On 1/17/2014 I saw India Victoria cover 4 annas to France was sold was $7400, but same cover was sold for $8100 on 1/10/2014.!!
This is common practice were price is increased and will be for sale again or next bidder will get Second Offer.!!
Click following link to read my blog post were similar thing happen and understand properly.
Looks like buyer did not paid $8100. This is similar to what's going in Gandhi stamp selling were price is increased by different bidders and they don't pay.!!
But my main question about this cover is what are chances of FORGERY ?
Yes forgery by applying forged rubber stamp .!!! Than buyer will have really extraordinary show piece.!!
Don't you think you can make this postmark rubber stamp easily ?
Even if it is slightly off then also no one will notice it.!! It has been 160 years ago.!!
In past we had seen lot of forged rubber stamp applied on Gandhi cover and also British India cover with First Aerial Post or Straits Settlements etc so chances of this as forgery is very high.!
In past I wrote blog post about Forgery in Queen Victoria cover 4 annas stamp, so please click before you read further as you get some idea what's happening.
Forgery India Queen Victoria Stamps
India 1854 half anna - queen victoria british india stamp
India 1854 QV Queen Victoria 4 annas stamps
There were 13 bidders and 40 bids which took price to $8100.!!
So what do you think about SHILL bidding in this transaction ?
Yes SHILL bidding where seller get help from philatelic friends or relatives or Seller using other eBay account of his own. ?
Do you think SHILL bidding happen to increase the price ?
God knows about this or Seller knows about it.!!
But one thing is sure that price was increased by some of this 13 bidders who did not paid eventually.!!
Now let's see FAKE or Bogus rubber stamps used in Gandhi stamp collection as well as Queen Victoria cover 4 annas stamp.
Even forgery are selling at high price. !! Easy way to make money by selling item as forgery.!!
So don't you see similarity with Gandhi Philately material.!! Following cancellation are some of the FAKE or FORGED special cancellation, postmark cancellation or local post office cancellation. It's just a RUBBER STAMP which my kids use to play to make art work.!! such as butterflies, rainbow, animals, etc.!!
Following blog post will explain you that indeed that Indian Stamps and Philately (British India and 1948 Gandhi Stamps) needs to be examined before you even think about buying it.
Beware of First Aerial Mail.

A Hobby in Decline.!!
This are Forged cancellation on East India Company stamp from Penang Octagonal cancellation and Sungei Ujong Chop cancellation.!!! on Queen Victoria stamps, King George V stamps.!!
