Recently I saw 1854 1/2 anna stamp from India and I was surprised after looking at price of this stamp. It was sold for $1858 by "bemortensen2012" and bought by "puneetgo"
Do you really think this stamp is sold for $1858?
Do you really think this is genuine sale ?
Do you really think eBay shareholder are benefiting with this kind of sale, as they will get huge commission from eBay as well as PayPal. ( Disclosure : I have eBay stock in my account, and no intend of selling in 72 hours.!!)
Do you really think this is genuine stamp?
If not genuine stamp than why this much money ?
It's you have to decide as you will paying it.
We all know that not only forgery stamps are available in today's world, but also expertising certificate are also forged or resused.
Not only there are Philatelic FAKES and FORGERIES material such as stamps or FDC or register used cover, but there are FAKE seller and FAKE buyer and FAKE bidders and FAKE "make a offer" and FAKE second chance and FAKE auction starting price and FAKE pricing and FAKE feedback and lot more FAKES.!!
This cheaters will used all or some of the above FAKES to make money from you.!!
If you read my blog post and think you will find all kind of people who do this kind of activity and apply that knowledge on eBay sellers and buyers (feedback or eBay search by bidders) you will find them lot.
Following is forgery stamp sheet of 1854 Queen Victoria stamp available on eBay. So what are chances of super fine quality of this forgery stamp of 1854 1/2 Anna Queen Victoria stamps is sold with forged expertising certificate.
It's lot of money to be made with this kind of forgery stamps.!!!
So were collector will look for authentication ?
This stamp was sold with certificate from some individual, not any organisation like British Philatelic Association or Royal Philatelic society which are very famous philatelic organisation in the world.
Even BPA and RPS just give OPINION only.!!
They don't take any responsibility.
Neither the Company nor the members of the Expert Committee can accept any liability, either collective or individual, for any opinion expressed.
So if they don't take any liability how can some individual like me can issue certificate (letter head) and you believe it.
You have to decide whether this expertising certificate is genuine or forged, because we had seen lot of forgery in expertising certificate of Gandhi stamps as well as bird stamp of India.
You can find each and everything about eBay transaction including seller, buyer, bidders, what other buyers are buying it etc.!! (Just type bidders name in eBay search by buyer and you will find it.)
Following is the purchase of "Puneetgo". (Just search by eBay id and you can find it out.)
In past there were lot of Queen Victoria 1854 stamps were available on eBay.
Also chances of getting caught is less because it's USED by applying rubber stamp, keeping in soil or exposing to sun and make it toned.!!
Look at sheer quantity of 1854 Queen Victoria stamp is currently available on eBay.!!
Do you consider this as a RARE stamps ?

Don't you think it's very easy to make more money instead of just selling Mint stamps?
If you buy this forgery sheet for $30 and make some used stamps by applying rubber stamp it will be selling for $40000.!!
So you need to think always before you buy otherwise you will regret.
To me at the end it will be JUST PIECE OF PAPER.!!
If you have money to throw away then start collecting British India Stamps, 1948 Gandhi Stamps and Philatelic material and you will have a PIECE of PAPER (with no peace of mind.!!).

Still cannot decide then read following blog post which might help you.
Still not decided then my opinion is AVOID it all the cost.!! and have peace of mind instead of worrying you are buying Genuine material.!!!
To me all Gandhi Philatelic material available ( specially before 1950) looks FAKE or Forgery as it is very hard to find Genuine stuff and as new collectors (like me) wants to collect, so some greedy experienced collectors/dealers will provide all of us as well as experienced collectors.!!
Still want to do research then please read my other blog post and have fun.!!
