You might be happy when you see this expensive stamps and philatelic material sold on eBay or other auction houses because your Stamp Collection Value is going up and your stamps worth is going up also.
But you might be wondering why stamps and philatelic material (Stamp Collection Value) are expensive and who is buying it, even though stamp hobby is declining.
Regular stamps don't even get sold at 1/20th price of catalog value.!!
But certain Gandhi stamps, King George stamps, King Edward stamps, First Aerial Mail from Allahabad are sold at very high price.!!
You might be thinking that lot of new collectors mostly from India and China are joining this hobby again as ALTERNATE Investment.!!
You might be wondering who in the world are buying expensive stamps and philatelic material.
It's confusing if you don't know that it's nothing but "FALSE HOPE OF RICHES".!!
Try to sell your stamps and you will be surprised when your stamps value is 1/10th or 1/20th you were expecting or when buyer will not pay you or your stamps was lost in mail and kind of amazing things you never thought when collecting stamps.!!
In order to increase their philatelic value any collector will bid and increase price. If they win they don't pay.!!
In order to increase profit any seller will start SHILL Bidding and will increase price of stamps or philatelic material or ANYTHING available in auction.!!
Recently I saw Gandhi philatelic cover was again for auction.!! It was sold for $57 on October 11 and bought by "echobangla" from Australia, a eBay member since 2003.!!
Now this philatelic cover is for sale again.!!
This is common practice after sending second offer to next bidders and if they don't accept it just put back for auction.!!
Of course this is questionable cover and which should not be valued for than $5 or $10, because chance of forgery is very very high.
After looking to this cover it makes more questionable because 2 different cancellation with different dates are applied on it.
18-12-1948 - 55th Congress issued in Jaipur
30-1-1949 - Sab Ko Sanmati De Bhagwan issued in Bombay (First anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi's death)
It's 43 days apart and it has been travelled to Canada? So not sure when it was travelled or when it came back for other cancellation? Also local Bombay post office cancellation is also missing on cover!!
My following blog post will explain more about why in past I claimed both as FAKE or BOGUS cancellation which might never exist.!!
Think this as a kids (grownup kids) artwork with rubber stamp for some project.!!
It's just glorified as special cancellation!! ( by stamp exhibitor, philatelic book etc.)
And that's the reason it was taken up to $57 so it's value goes up even though it's not a genuine philatelic material.
Read following blog post to understand about this cover with Sabko Sanmati De Bhagwan 1948 - 55th Congress Gandhinagar Jaipur Slogan.
Keep in mind that there are lot of things needs to be aware of when you are stamp collector.
1) Forgery stamps (replica or facsimil stamps) are sold a genuine.
2) Forgery stamps are sold as used stamps after applying forgery rubber stamp.
3) Forged rubber stamps are applied on first day covers, used covers or even register labels are forged.
4) Shill bidding is the king.!!!
5) Increase price by not paying to seller if they win!!, in order to increase price.
6) Even FEEDBACK on eBay and Delcampe are FAKE.!!
7) God knows how stamp auction houses work.!! But my guess it same like online auction.!!
8 Expert collectors and dealers will give false advice to new collectors or back stab them when they are bidding for particular item by increasing price of that item.!!
9) Don't follow great or famous stamp collector who exhibit in various stamp exhibition and winning medal or who are presenting their collection in online exhibit, don't trust stamp forum, stamp discussion boards, don't trust philatelic handbook as everyone is trying to glorify their stamp collection even though they are aware of all kind of forgery. They are the one who involved in all kind of illegal activity with their philatelic friends.!!
But now let's find out why following cover was for sale again, but one guess will be buyer did not paid to seller.!!
If you see there were 4 bids which were placed in last 5 minutes by
h***m(207)
a***t(3901) ------->stamp_bay
p***l(3908)
o***n(2226) ------> Puneetgo
Of course they can take price up to $5700 or $57000!! You just have to bid it and don't have to pay. No one is going to come after you or will not reported in your own credit history because you can open multiple accounts and that also from different countries.!!
Click following link and see/read about how to glorified price of philatelic material. (by Shill bidding and not paying to seller after increasing price)
Biggest non paying buyer is "hitlerandgandhi". Just he/she and their group of dealers/collectors makes Gandhi stamps expensive by just bidding with different accounts and they don't pay it or they write good feedback for each other even though they cancel the auction purchase and did not pay to eBay.!!
Click following link to read it.
This is standard practice (not paying to seller) for all expensive or currently famous stamps and philatelic material.
