Hello Philatelist,
Recently I saw India 1911 World's 1st AERIAL POST ALLAHABAD from a new eBay seller from SPAIN "mbstang" with only 11 feedback and account open in 2013.!!
Can you believe that a seller with such a low feedback just started selling this kind of rare and expensive philatelic material. ?
Do you think he/she is selling someone's else material or it's a new eBay id opened by experienced seller.!!
I generally don't buy from low feedback and new eBay seller but chances of getting forgery item is very high because there is no credit and seller can open new accounts as many as they want on eBay and start selling their stuff.!!
This philatelic material (special cancellation) India stamp first aerial post 1911 Allahabad Naini was sold for $1526 to USA buyer "mrsumpra" which is also new buyer who opened account in 2013 with only 28 feedback.!!
By buying with new id you can hide your original id or want to hide your previous buying/selling pattern.
Currently I don't see buyers I used to see who were bidding to increase price such as "hitlerandgandhi" or not paying seller to glorify material by increasing price, so it's very hard to believe.!!
This are not rare cancellation of first aerial mail from Allahabad as they are available in HUGE large quantity. In past 3 years I had seen more than 200+ still in good condition with bright cancellation even after 100+ years.
No affect of fading ink on this cancellation and full detail without missing any part of cancellation and still intake after 100+ years even though paper and stamp looks old.!!
Do you really think this is genuine transaction ?
What I mean by genuine transaction?
This means that buyer paid to seller and seller paid to eBay and indeed eBay shareholder will get benefit of this transaction.!!
Looking to feedback by seller it looks like Genuine transaction.!!
Do you really think this is Genuine cancellation ?
This means that in 1911 it was applied proper postage with all registration charges ?
I don't think so because at that time registration charges were eight annas and this cover with 1911 first aerial cancellation has only four annas.!!
So does this mean that this was not actual flown in first aerial flight.!!
or this is also FORGERY like with we saw with red color ink and maker of previous forged cover might have correct magenta ink after wards.!!
F0RGERY of rubber stamp with Red ink.!!! Chances of correct ink cover might be in Museum or selling on eBay!! |
YES, above postmark is a Rubber stamp.!! It's not postmark.
Bye the way if there is any original then also it's not postmark because it has no date.!!. It's a CACHET.
Click following link to read about "INDIAN Philately EXPOSED - Part III" to know more about reddish ink first aerial mail.!!
On eBay you can find out all information about buyer and seller using feedback, what they buy, when they buy, from whom they buy, what price they buy, what else they sell or sold etc.
You might be wondering what to with Philatelic ?
It has lot to do with Philatelic, because you need to authenticate your material, pricing etc so you are not cheated.
This is more work than just bidding and paying it.!!
There are 3 more similar item available on eBay, but what are chances of this items selling by one person with different eBay account. Do you think It's possible.?
Also after looking feedback of all 3 eBay seller looks like they know each other as they had done business in past.!!
Also looks like they sell similar items such as Gandhi 1948 philatelic material, First Aerial Mail and also some technology books printed in India and selling to foreign buyers.!!!
So what do you think about seller of World First Aerial Post India 1911 ALLAHABAD ?
In past we had seen lot of forgery cancellation of first aerial post from Allahabad. So what are chances of this as forgery.!!
Also in past I wrote blog post about this India 1911 World's 1st AERIAL POST ALLAHABAD and you can click following link to read it and you decide what's going in First Aerial Mail.!!
My personal opinion is that when any expensive philatelic item from India there are more chances of forgery. Also it's not only India philatelic material but any expensive philatelic material.!!
Read my blog post about following BOGUS FORGED Gandhi stamps and philatelic cancellation with rubber stamp applied on piece of paper or envelope and trying to MAKE huge money instead of selling just MINT stamps.!!
Germany FAKE Cancellation : http://gandhistampsclub.blogspot.com/2010/01/fake-gandhi-postmark-cancel-from.html
Mauritius FAKE zipcode : http://gandhistampsclub.blogspot.com/2011/11/early-usage-of-indian-pincode-classic.html
Early Usage cover : http://gandhistampsclub.blogspot.com/2012/01/gandhi-1948-stamp-early-usage-of-1948.html
Gandhi SERVICE FAKE : http://gandhistampsclub.blogspot.com/2012/04/gandhi-service-stamp-how-one-can-tell.html
Don't you think chances of first aerial mail also is rubber stamp similiar to above cancellation.!!
We had seen this lot in Gandhi Philatelic material such as
1) Round table cancellation from England
2) Gandhi SERVICE stamp envelope
3) Gandhi SERVICE stamp on piece of paper with Governor General cancellation.
4) 1948 Gandhi 10 Rupees Stamp (only Gandhi stamp is forged.!!)
5) 1948 Gandhi First Day cover
6) 1948 Gandhi stamp Folders from Swiss Courvoisier Printing press folder or special leather folder with Emblem of India !!
So now you decide whether this four anna King Edward India stamp with special cancellation of first aerial mail from Allahabad to Naini is GENUINE or FORGED.
You already might know but let me make sure that I am not EXPERT in First Aerial Mail or any other philatelic collection as I am collecting since last 4+years.
But I have gain enough knowledge about buying, selling pattern on eBay and different types of forgery, bogus Gandhi philatelic material which I am comparing and with other philatelic material, which looks complete identical.!!
My personal opinion it's FORGERY, because it does not make sense.!! Again it's my personal opinion after looking everything such as
- new seller
- new buyer
- other forged 1911 first aerial mail
- lot of similarities between forged Gandhi philately material and First Aerial mail.
- sheer quantity available after 100+ years as if it's printing press out there.
- very good quality of first aerial mail with bright ink and complete cachet
- pricing is attempting to make rubber stamps
But you have to think and decide about 1911 First aerial mail post from Allahabad-Naini as you will be spending $1500 for piece of paper.!!
Thanks
Gandhi Stamps Club.
