Gandhi stamps sell for £500,000 - Gandhi SERVICE stamps

We know only from news article that Gandhi stamps sell for £500,000 in auction.

But do you really think it is sold in auction?

If really sold  then do seller pay tax on profit they made on auction?

Do anyone know who is seller (except auction house).

How government will find out who is seller and get tax?

What do you think about this Gandhi stamps sell for £500,000 ?

Is it genuine auction sell or fake one(no one paid and buyer took stamp back).

Do anyone know that tax was paid on this Gandhi stamps sell for £500,000?

According to me and my research(you don't have to believe me) that this Gandhi SERVICE 10 Rupees was never overprinted by C. Rajagopalchari. Check following link

It's just BOGUS(never overprinted officially and used by Rajagopalchari).

This stamp is marketed as rare stamp. (Rajagopalchari will never make rear).

This stamp is marketed as send to Queen of England (Rajagopalchari or any Indain freedom fighter will not send anything to Queen or anyone in England).

But some one is paying  £500,000. It's good. Now seller needs to pay tax and buyer needs to be aware when they sell it as they also have to pay tax on profit(capital gain tax) they makes.

You can get overprint stamp for $5-20. Ofcourse stamp is FAKE and OVERPRINT is BOGUS.

YOU CAN BUY THIS GENUINE OVERPRINT STAMP FOR $10-20.

SO WHAT YOU THINK ABOUT THIS GANDHI SERVICE STAMP?

BOGUS?

GENUINE?

TAX ON PROFIT WAS PAID?

DID AUCTION SITE REPORTED THIS TRANSACTION TO GOVERNMENT SO THEY CAN COLLECT TAX?

THANKS

India 1948 Gandhi SERVICE stamp with BPA certificate

Recently India 1948 Gandhi Service stamp was sold for $2000.

I have written more than 50 blog post about Gandhi SERVICE stamp and it's interesting to see  some dumb collector is willing to pay this much for piece of paper!!

Click following blog post to understand what is India 1948 Gandhi SERVICE stamp

As per my knowledge and my research I think this SERVICE overprint was never printed

The story is that this was created by C. Rajagopalachari, the First Governor General of India, and he was selling it as a charity!!

I have never seen a photograph of C. Rajagopalachari on a stamp which proves that it really existed.

This stamp was not famous or widely distribute when C Rajagopalachari was alive until 1972. He might have given some talk or seminar on this SERVICE stamp.

Then how come you see all this Stamp Expert Certification from BPA or RPLS or whoever. Because it's easy to print and provided certificate. It don't require any government credentials to give certificate like USPA Expertising Inc.

http://uspaexpertising.blogspot.com/

So what do you think about this India 1948 Gandhi SERVICE stamp with BPA certificate after reading my blog post.

Thanks

GSC.

BTW: Other Expensive Gandhi stamps sold on ebay are

1) 1948 FDC Gandhi - cancelled Kotagiri --> 10 Rupees was lot of money in 1948 no one will collect it. Also all post office were closed in India except 2-3-4 in major cities.

2) This blog post

3) India Gandhi 1948 complete set on FDC Bombay GPO -- Not official FDC and may be created after date and special Jai Hind cancellation is not clear so may be Forgery.

4) Madras G.P.O (15 AUG 1948) You research your self using following blogpost. (only city to use AUG instead of AUGUST)

Gandhi SERVICE stamp - Australian bought it ?

As you know my personal opinion about Gandhi SERVICE stamp is FAKE.

As published by several online stamp exhibition, Gandhi Handbook and other blogs, news article and even expert certification from BPA or RPS or someone else about this Gandhi SERVICE stamp I still consider this is a FAKE invention or creation.

Rajagopalachari then served as Governor-General of India from June 1948 until 26 January 1950 and very  led a very simple life in the viceregal palace, washing his own clothes and polishing his own shoes.

Do you think this kind of person will ever involved in following kind of act.?

My personal opinion why Gandhi SERVICE stamp is based on number of following assumption.

  • Governer General Raja Gopalachari will never approve this kind of stamps.
  • Even if he approved it he will not give it FREE or donate it to anyone.
  • Even if he approved he will never print in small quantity.
  • He will never write OHMS on his envelope.
  • No information about this stamp was available when he was alive.
  • Famous Indian stamp collector/philatelist Jal Cooper was selling this stamp even though it was specially made for government use.!!
  • It never displayed or written anywhere in 1948 or 1949 or 1950.!! (Even if it is written it might never came out.!!)
  • He was a writer and never wrote in any of his book about this Gandhi SERVICE stamp.
So what do you think about my assumption ?

Does it make sense with my personal opinion. ?

So why in the hell Australian investor wants to remain in Mystery after spending $850,000.!!

So I am curious whether this transaction really happened or just publicity? We will not figured out unless someone comes up openly about buyer and seller like Bill Gross did for his famous 2 millon dollar purchase.!!

But it will be impossible.!!

But this is great news for Austrailian government as they will be benefit from this by getting GST on Gandhi SERVICE stamp.

US Bond trader Bill Gross spend 2 million on one of the rear stamp and donate it to National Philatelic Museum in Washington.

https://www.nytimes.com/2016/05/05/business/dealbook/bill-gross-sells-a-prized-investment-stamps.html

So why Australian investor of Gandhi SERVICE stamp wants to remain MYSTERY ?

You can read more about above image by clicking following link.

http://www.smh.com.au/business/philately-incredible-aussie-breaks-record-pays-850000-for-four-indian-stamps-20170425-gvrxtb.html

Do you think you will pay $850,000 if you win lotto or if you are some idiot who got fortune as inheritance ?

Do you think someone will give idea about Alternative Investment to some unknown Chinese millionare or some UAE royal family by giving this kind of examples.

Do you think it's a game ?

Click one of the following link and you will become smarter.!!

1) Philatelic FAKE and FORGERIES.
2) FAKE AERO PHILATELY Covers.
3) Stamp collection CHEATING.
4) Stamp Collection Value
5) Stamp Collecting Facts
6) China stamp collection value.
7) First AirMail Post
8) World First Flight Cover
9) Greatest Stamp Collection Scandal
10) Biggest stamp collection SCAM
11) SCANDAL in stamp collection
12) How to increase stamp collection value

Now does it make sense to collect stamps after looking above blog posts?

What do you think about my personal opinion ? ( You don't have to believe it and spend your money on whatever feels good to you.)

Thanks

Capital Gain Tax on collectibles - Gandhi India stamp sold for $205000.- World Record Price of a stamp.

In USA I just paid my taxes on April 18th and it's complicated when you have to calculate Capital Gain Tax which apply on stamp collection also.

You have to pay Capital Gain Tax on hobby also.!! So I was wondering how much money seller has to pay in Capital Gain Tax in 2012 for Gandhi Service stamp which was sold for $205000.

My opinion about Gandhi overprint SERVICE stamp is nothing but BOGUS (never exist) which can be easily overprint and no one will know.!! ( You just have to let people know about it).

India Gandhi SERVICE overprint stamp is nothing but to make money by some famous collectors/dealers when they realize they can make money by overprinting and claim as genuine.

There are even FORGERY of this BOGUS stamp also.!!

Even BOGUS are selling as genuine with Forged Expert Certificate.!!

IN PAST I WROTE BLOG POST Gandhi SERVICE STAMP which will explain it why I called it BOGUS.

Click to  read it or just scroll down and you will see complete blog post.

http://gandhistampsclub.blogspot.com/2015/12/rajagopalachari-governor-general-of.html

My opinion is like Expert Committee.!!

Don't take any responsibility or liability.!!

And you also don't have to believe my opinion.!!

In May 2011, Gandhi 10 Rupees SERVICE overprint stamp was sold for $205000.!!  It's original price was 10 Rupees in 1948 (about $2).

Also you can search on google and you will find tons of information about this Gandhi SERVICE Stamp sold for world record price.

But for this blog post let's forget about my opinion and think it is genuine so we can predict how much profit is made on this not only by seller but also by
  • Stamp auctioneer got commission.
  • Seller's Country where Capital Gain Tax was paid
  • Seller's Country where State Tax  or VAT was paid.

Do you think it was really sold for this price ? As per all the news we read in newspaper, blogs, websites etc  it looks like it was sold.

So seller has to pay lot of capital gain tax on this $205000.

My general estimate for capital gain tax on this collectible item it will be about $35000 - $60000.!! depending on country and seller's buying price.

Lot of money for any government.!!

Do anyone know which country got this capital Gain tax ? (Is it India or UK or USA or ?)

Do you really think Capital Gain tax was paid for this auction by seller?

Do any country cares about this kind of capital gain tax ?

Do you know who is the seller ?

As per Gandhi stamp and philatelic Handbook(Cannot trust this book) as well as other website/blogs/stamp exhibit which specific that only  7 or 11 or 18 ( or more) stamps is known to be with private collector.!! (So it's one of the collector selling it ?)

Do you know who is the buyer ? (needs to pay capital gain tax on this when he sells).

So do you think it one of the seven or eleven known collector who has this stamp is selling this. ?

But how we know all this things ?

IT WILL BE VERY HARD TO FIND ALL THIS INFORMATION.

But we still believe that this is one of the expensive India stamp without actual knowing anything about this stamp.!!!

So what do you think about Capital Gain Tax, Sales Tax/ VAT on this stamp ?

Do any country got it ?

Thanks

Gandhi SERVICE stamp with Expert Certificate

In past I wrote more than 10 blog post about Gandhi SERVICE stamp. (click link to read it)

This SERVICE stamp is nothing but BOGUS (never exist).

This SERVICE stamp is just glorified as genuine by stamp collectors, handbook authors and auction houses in order to make money.

Do you think this SERVICE stamp was needed ? (I don't think so)

This was 4th stamp issued by Independent India and first three did not have SERVICE stamp.!!

So why 4th stamp is SERVICE stamp.!!

Not the first stamp from Indepedence India.

But I overprint SERVICE on first stamp (flag stamp) and made one as very RARE stamp.!!

Click to read India flag SERVICE stamp. (never seen before.!!).

As per stamp exhibit this was meant to first governer general of  India than how come this is available to general public.!!!

According to me it is nothing but to MAKE MONEY.!!

Recently I saw this stamp was sold for $204 by eBay seller "worldstamps22" from Belgium.!!

Do you think eBAY  got commission from this transacation ?

Reason for this question about eBay getting commission is most of the time in order to glorify stamps there is SHILL Bidding or Increase in price without paying to seller.!!

Also there were 15 bidders interested in this stamps.!!

Do you think 15 bidders were really interested in stamps or it's just SHILL bidding or Increase in price.!!

On top of that this stamp has Expert Certification.!!

Do you think this kind of certificate means it's GENUINE ?

I can print one and claim as EXPERT Certificate.!! It's more easier than forging stamps.!!!

In past I printed or made one.!! (click to see and read about it)

So what do you think about this transaction ?

So what do you think about 15 bidders ?

So what do you think about Gandhi SERVICE stamps ?

So what do you think about Expert Certificate ?

Thanks
GSC.

(As I mentioned before there was NO Gandhi SERVICE stamp used or made for Governor General of India. But it is made by some collector and dealer during that time.!!)

Used Stamp Cover or Philatelic Cover : Do they have any value ?

In my previous blog post I wrote about collectors/dealers selling  Gandhi SERVICE stamp and this blog post will prove it. (Click this link to read it)

Following is USED stamp Register Cover or philatelic cover from Governor of General without overprint SERVICE on Gandhi stamp.

So as per my previous blog post Gandhi SERVICE stamp(overprint) was available through dealer but not for actual usage by Governor General which it was overprinted for.!!

Don't you think it's some what fishy happens in 1948 or 1949 and we all are circling around that. Even some philatelic/stamp  yearbooks or handbooks or exhibitors had made lot of enrichment or fame by publishing this knowingly or unknowingly.

What I learn in 4+ years of stamp collecting hobby is that you have to believe in yourself. Don't need to look others or listen to other collectors.

Do you think publisher (whether it's book, blog, website, stamp forums, stamp boards, groups etc ) and stamp exhibitor are collaborating  or working with each other for maximum gain.!!

But this used stamp cover  or philatelic cover might PROVES (or we can start thinking) that there were no official stamp issued in 1948 for Governor General.!!

All that overprint stamps (SERVICE or SPECIMEN) is nothing but someone's imagination to make money out of it.!!

Now what are the chances of this used stamp cover or philatelic cover is FORGERY ? (It's just rubber stamp to apply on any old cover)

In past we had seen lot of forgery of Governor General CAMP PO and other Gandhi stamps as well as all kinds of different British India stamps.

So after seen above image and reading blog post what are chances of this as FORGERY cover ?

Want still more material to research than compare following two Used stamp cover or Philatelic cover.

Compare following

1) Registration label #  ( 186 was send in January were as 181 was send in August).
2) Registration label PO (name missing on one of them).

Was there any procedure or schema for numbering or naming the label ?

Want to know more about other used stamp cover or philatelic cover then click following link.

We don't know what happen in 60+ years ago.!!

This cover was sold for $5045.!!

Do you really believe this was actually sold and all commission to eBay and Paypal were paid.?

In Gandhi Stamp collection collectors/dealers try to increase price and don't pay to seller.!!

Read following blog post were buyer don't pay to seller!! A great loss for eBay shareholders.!!

So after reading above two blog post what do you think ?

Did eBay got commission from this sale.?

Did PayPal got commission from this sale ?

What are chances that buyer "d***i(362)" did not paid to seller and seller open case with eBay and did not have to pay all commission ?

This is standard practice (not paying to seller) for all expensive or currently famous stamps and philatelic material and seller has lot of trouble selling again , opening case with eBay etc.

A great loss for eBay shareholder if they are cheated by buyer as they are making use of eBay infrastructure and not paying it. (Disclosure : I currently hold eBay stocks).

Please read following series of my blog post  to understand what is going on stamp collecting world specially in Indian Philatelic material with 1948 Gandhi stamps.

1) 1948 Gandhi Stamps and Philatelic material are False hope of Riches?
2) 1948 Gandhi Stamps: Are False hope of Riches - Part II ?

7) Indian Philately Exposed - Part II

In past I wrote anything related to India 1948 Gandhi stamps is fraud.

Yes Gandhi stamps are forgery. (replica stamps or facsimile stamps)

Yes Gandhi FDC are forgery (forged rubber stamp)

Yes used covers are forgery (forged rubber stamp)

Yes Leather folder are FAKE. (BOGUS)

Yes Coursovier folder are FAKE. (BOGUS).

You will be thinking is there any thing GENUINE.!!

I think that one you have to decide, because it's your money and everyone needs it.!!

BUT I will add one more in to this.

YES GANDHI SERVICE STAMP IS BOGUS.

YES GOVERNOR GENERAL CAMP PO is FORGERY/BOGUS.

Thanks

Expertizing Certificate from Royal Philatelic Society London - RPSL. It's Unbelievable that it's REAL.!!

Hello Philatelist,

As you all know that there are lot of FAKE, Forgeries and BOGUS philatelic material available than Genuine.!!

So in order to make collector feel good on their investment there is Expert certificate (Opinion) which indicates the genuineness  of a stamps from British Philatelic Association (BPA Certificate) or Royal Philatelic Society London (RPSL certificate) or many other philatelic society/organisation or individual experts in the world. These are one of the best philatelic societies in the world and provide lot  of information philatelic world and find genuineness of philatelic material.

In past I read that this BPA expert certificate or RPSL certificate are even REUSED after removing writing on certificate using chemical or white tape and photocopying that one for future use.!! You can read that too by clicking following link of my blog post.

http://gandhistampsclub.blogspot.com/2012/09/india-stamps_17.html

In June 2010, there was a Gandhi Service stamp for sale on eBay for $225,000 with RPSL expert certificate. But all information was hidden.!!!

Do you think it's FORGED or Reused?

To me it looks like something wrong when I see this kind of activity because they are hiding all information such as RPLS certificate #, Date, Signature and Submitted by etc.

Following is screenshot from eBay, which makes this as one of the most expensive stamp for sale in public auction on eBay by seller "tappalman" with very low feedback of 281.!! (seller don't exist.!! as changed id or discontinued !!) In past I wrote about this most expensive stamp and you can read by clicking following link.

http://gandhistampsclub.blogspot.com/2011/01/expensive-gandhi-stamp.html

What do you think about this Expert Certificate from Royal Philatelic Society London.?

Can you complain to  anyone if you buy this stamp with forged expertising certificate.?

I don't think so.!! You are on your own.!!

Thanks
Gandhi Stamps Club.

MOST EXPENSIVE STAMP

Hello Gandhi Philatelist,

Only 200 Mahatma Gandhi 10 Rs. stamps were overprinted with "Service" and issued for the use  of  Governor General of India, making it the world's least printed stamp. (It all started here.!!, why only 200 stamps.!!)

Of the hundred stamps that were overprinted with "Service", a few were gifted to dignitaries(looks like they are benefited), while most remain at the National Archives, Postal Museums, etc.

Less than 10 copies of Gandhi 10 Rupees SERVICE stamps reside in private hands and that's why this stamp makes expensive stamp which was sold for $200,000 and if it is genuine stamp with cancellation from  governor post office then sky is the limit.!!!

But you can find Genuine copy of used Gandhi SERVICE stamp as all are FORGED and then shill bidding to make it expensive so others will think this are real stamps and cancellation on piece of paper and even also on envelope. All is BOGUS.!!

Read my previous blog post about Gandhi Service stamp and be SAFE.!!

1) Gandhi SERVICE overprint stamp price fell from $1009 to $1.!!
2) How can you tell that Gandhi SERVICE stamp is FAKE or Forgery ?
3) Maryland forgery of Gandhi SERVICE stamp is $450. Is it shill bidding?
4) Gandhi SERVICE stamp on piece of paper with SUNDAY cancellation !!! ?

But following is not Genuine stamp or cancellation like we all see it on piece of paper.
If this was genuine then it will get more money than Geneva auction house David Feldman sold a 1948 10 Rupee Mahatma Gandhi stamp of India for the incredible price of  €140,000 (US$ 200,000) when buyer's premium is included.

Reason for getting more than $200000 is because it is one of kind USED  with Governor General Cancellation. Never seen this Genuine stamp!!

We all know when it's rare (very very rare) then only it will be expensive and famous. Also it should be from some well know country, otherwise even if it is rare stamp than also it will be not famous and it will be not expensive.

Expensive stamps are actually made rare so it will eventually become expensive.

Think about 10 Rupees Gandhi SERVICE stamp from India and apply logic there why it is expensive. First all it was only printed 100 stamps for use only by Governor General of India. (Government usage only). So how in the world normal collector will have this stamp. According to me if general people cannot buy it at face value than it is not consider a stamp.

Think if KING of England decide in 1850 than only King will use first stamp and it will be only with King. If that was the case than penny black stamp will be billion dollar right now.!! But it's available under $100, because this stamp were printed in large quantity and it was available to general public.

Some of the rare stamps are which were printed in error and it was available to general public during that time. One of the famous example is INVERTED JENNY. Recently this stamp was sold for 2 million dollar for block of four.

You will think your collection also become rare and has expensive stamps, but chances are very less unless you start CHEATING.!!

How to increase your stamp collection value :

Philatelic SCAM:

Make forgery philatelic material :

Art of Making Money:

Create RARE stamps or Philatelic material:

Mint stamp with Gandhi SERVICE was for sale on eBay for $225000.!! Following is screenshot.

You can click following link to read above blog post where chances of expert certification is forged too.

http://gandhistampsclub.blogspot.com/2011/01/expensive-gandhi-stamp.html

But after looking following screenshot I am 100% sure that all that 1948 Gandhi SERVICE stamp on piece of paper with Governor General Camp PO is Forgery.

Recently I saw 10 Rupees Gandhi SERVICE stamp on piece of paper with cancellation of Governor General PO.

Seller is selling as REPLICA or facsimile so all Gandhi SERVICE stamp that we had seen in my previous blog post are indeed Forgery with rubber stamp of Governor General.!!

It was sold for $7.!!

Thanks "ma-collectorshop" from Slovakia for selling it as facsimile instead of telling world as Genuine like other seller on eBay.!! or RE-USE of  BPA or RPLS expertiziation certificate and try to sell it as genuine or increase price by SHILL bidding and make other collector think that it's Genuine.!!

Following are some of the Gandhi SERVICE stamp which in past were on eBay or Declampe for sale.!!

To me it's all look same stamp and cancellation as if "ma-collectorshop".

Stay away from 1948 Gandhi SERVICE stamp from India or any 1948 Gandhi Stamp Philatelic material from India otherwise you will regret big time.

(On side note stay away from 1911 First Aerial Post from Allahabad or any British India stamps and philatelic material.)

It's brutal out there. Everyone is looking for your money.!!

Now I am also 100% sure about all kind of forgery in Indian Philatelic material such as "1911 First Aerial Mail", "Germany 2009 Gandhi special Cancellation from Winnenden", "King George", "King Edward" and every expensive  rare philatelic item.!!

So beware what are you collecting.

So you need to think always before you buy otherwise you will regret.

To me at the end it will be JUST PIECE OF PAPER.!!

If you have money to throw away then start collecting  British India Stamps, 1948 Gandhi Stamps and Philatelic material and you will have a PIECE of PAPER (with no peace of mind.!!).

Still cannot decide then read following blog post which might help you.

Still not decided then my opinion is AVOID it all the cost.!! and have peace of mind instead of worrying you are buying Genuine material.!!!

To me all Gandhi Philatelic material available ( specially before 1950) looks FAKE or Forgery as it is very hard to find Genuine stuff and as new collectors (like me) wants to collect, so some greedy experienced collectors/dealers will provide  all of us as well as experienced collectors.!!

Still want to do research  then please read my other blog post and have fun.!!

Inverted Jenny - King George - King Edward Stamp comparison with Gandhi stamps.

Hello Gandhi Stamps Collectors,

The Inverted Jenny (also known as an Upside Down Jenny or Jenny Invert) is a United States postage stamp first issued on May 10, 1918 in which the image of the Curtiss JN-4 airplane in the center of the design appears upside-down; it is probably the most famous error in American philately.(From Wikipedia)

Because the center image was printed first, with the frame added second; it is actually the frame that is printed upside-down, not the center image of the Jenny.

Only one pane of 100 of the invert stamps was ever found, making this error one of the most prized in all philately. A block of four inverted Jennys was sold at a Robert A. Siegel auction in October 2005 for US $2.7 million.

As you know that now I started comparing Gandhi stamps with all other expensive stamps and in this blog post I am writing about Inverted Jenny and British India stamps including 1948 Gandhi Stamps.

So read carefully and think twice what will affect your collection.

As you all know that in Gandhi Stamps and Philatelic material when price is high there is forgery and that the case here also.!!

Following is screenshot from eBay where seller is selling  Replica or facsimile of this stamp.

Seller of Inverted Jenny is also selling lot of Replica and facsimile. He is selling used 1948 India Gandhi SERVICE stamp on piece of paper with Governor General PO. (screenshot is all the way in the end of the blog post).

Following is classic example of forgery of King Edward from British Central Africa.

Now think about chances of all expensive British Indian Stamps available and think what are chances you are getting forgery or fake like "Inverted Jenny".

Look at following screenshot were none of the seller has not mentioned about Replica or Facsimile so I think it's Genuine.

But my question is what are the chances of getting Replica or Facsimile like we see on top ?

2 weeks ago I wrote blog post about King George stamps and King Edward stamp related to chances of forgery. Please read by clicking following link to understand overall picture.

King George 25 Rupees stamp from India Postage, sold for $291

India 25 Rupees King George V stamp with overprint SERVICE, sold for $222.

King George V 25 Rupees stamps from British India, sold for $250

King Edward 15 and 25 Rupees Stamp from British India from "Taiwan" for $1990

Again let me make sure that I am not telling that above King George stamps and King Edward stamp are fake or forgery.

But what are the chances.?

But "ma-collectorshop" is also selling 1948 Gandhi 10 Rupees SERVICE stamp also. But he selling as "Not Genuine"!! so it's OK. He is not trying to cheat as he mentioned it.

Now you compare all the above and think what's going on in stamp collection and think twice about collecting British India stamps and specially in Gandhi SERVICE stamp as well as 10 Rupees Gandhi stamp.

If they can print Inverted Jenny, King Edward stamp from British Central Africa and others then what are the chances of King George V stamp from India, King Edward stamp from India and others.

Thanks
Gandhi Stamps Club.

India 10 Rupees Mahatma Gandhi Service postage stamp

Hello Gandhi Collectors,

As all of you might know that 10 Rupees 1948 India Gandhi stamp with overprint SERVICE is one of the least printed (reprinted) stamp in the world.

A set of stamps over-printed as "Service" was issued to the Government of India for official purposes. Only 100 Mahatama Gandhi 10 Rs. stamps were overprinted with "Service" and issued for the use of C. Rajagopalachari, the Governor General of India, making it the world's least printed stamp.[ Of the hundred stamps that were overprinted with "Service", a few were gifted to dignitaries (Do anyone know who were this dignitaries), while most remain at the National Archives, Postal Museums, etc.

Also it is one (between 10-20) of the most expensive stamp in the world.!! So what when price of philatelic material goes up everyone wants to get rich.!!!So there was a forgery of this stamp too.!!
This forgeries are available for more than 10+ years and known as  "Marvelous Maryland" because it was printed in Maryland, USA.  It is categorized as "The ORIGINAL Maryland Forgery"!!!

Original in Forgery.!! (Not knew that there is original also in forgery too.!!)

Following is the forgery of that stamp which is known as Maryland Forgery. But I was surprised when this was sold for $455 with 51 bids on it.!!! Do you think forgery happen in this transaction also.?!!

Seller is in Australia and item shipped from international location.!!! (Are they business seller or helping someone or multiple account and multiple international location.!!)

Do you actual think this is genuine transaction with commission paid to ebay and also to paypal.?!!

You can see this at ebay for next 2 months by clicking following URL.

You can figure out from my past blog post who the buyer is.!!  (hint : [(d***i)(189)])  I don't think this is actual purchase as I don't see any feedback on ebay.!!

If you cannot find buyer then my advice is please quit Gandhi Philately as it will be very hard for you to survive in this Forgery Gandhi Philately World.!!

I am not sure why this much price as this forgery stamp (even with side) is available for less than $10.!! on delcampe and ebay.  Following is the screenshot.

So I am not sure why buyers wants to pay $450!!

To me only difference is seller. One has less than 300 feedback from Australia were as other has more that 3300 feedback from Germany.!!

Read my previous blog post about Gandhi SERVICE stamp: Is it Real or FAKE ?

http://gandhistampsclub.blogspot.com/2012/04/gandhi-service-stamp-how-one-can-tell.html

So now you need to decide what's happening in 1948 Gandhi Stamps.!!

This kind of things are happening in almost each and every 1948 high value 1948 India Gandhi FDC/Used Covers.!! So take care. You are on your own.!!

Again thanks for reading and  please share your thoughts in the comments section or you can email me at ketankumar@gmail.com.

Thanks

BTW:- Even blog of 4 is available (from Germany) on delcampe for $80!!
