GABON stamps : Gabon 1998 FDC

In order to make money collectors and dealers will involved in making all kind of forgeries or even bogus special cancellation, stamps, FDC, philatelic material and all you can think will be forged.

Following are different ways to make money by selling stamps on Internet. (Of course is CHEATING!!)

So now you have to decide what you are paying for what ?

But keep in mind what you see on eBay or any other auction house pricing is not correct as they don't pay after buying it in order to increase price and you might get second offer chance at little lower price.!!

Now look at following rubber stamp applied on Gabon 1998 Mahatma Gandhi stamps. Don't you think it's easy to make.!!

Also look at the cachet on the GABON stamps 1998 FDC. It does not make any sense if you compare with other FDC available. To me it looks like it's not from official postal department but it's made as private FDC by applying rubber stamp. Not sure whether this is official rubber stamp or just forgery.!!

Now look at the following screenshot from eBay where Gabon 1998 Gandhi FDC very rare was selling for $48 from eBay seller "gsphila"

How can be this VERY RARE.!

It's FDC so there will be about 1000 or 2000 or 50000 or more made so why seller is telling very rare.!!

Does this makes sense. If just stamp is sold, then there will be no buyer but in order to make more money FDC are created and sold without providing correct information.

We all know how FAKE/FORGERY FDC are made. Read following blog post and you will get idea how easy it is to create forgery.

Stamps Collection : A DYING HOBBY ?

Recently I read about  stamp collection "A Paying Hobby", where there is all kind of praise about Gandhi stamps and investment in stamps.!!

As per article 1948 India Gandhi stamp valued 10 Rupees is paying 30000 Rupees, but as per my research it shows it's current value is 7500 Rupees.!! Click following link to see the current price of 10 Rupees India Gandhi stamps.

I am not sure whether 7500 Rupees is also genuine price because chances of SHILL bidding and non paying is very high.!! So Beware what you listen or read or see is not actual price but "False hope of Riches.!!"

Yes stamp collection is  FALSE hope of Riches !!

If you ask me how much I will pay for 10 Rupees Gandhi stamp MNH, I will say about $40-50 or might be less as there are lot of stamps printed and there are not that many Gandhi stamps collectors.!!

But I will never buy it because chance of getting FORGERY is very high.!! I can live without it.!!

Do you know why stamp collection is  dying ?

1) Forgery stamps and rubber stamps is killing this hobby.

2) SHILL bidding is main killer.

3) False hopes of Riches by artificial inflated prices.

4) Incorrect Glorification of Gandhi stamps by displaying in stamp exhibition or online exhibition, Gandhi Handbook, philatelic blogs, philatelic website, stamps boards, newspapers, finiacial analyst or advisor etc.

5) Even forgery material are in philatelic museum in order to glorify.

6) BOGUS (never exist) postmark rubber stamp are in award winning exhibit.!!

India 1969 Gandhi Birth Centenary issue FDC - Is stamp collection hobby is on decline.?

After looking following two recent screenshot if some one can justify me that it's indeed Paying hobby, I will be really exictied.!!

Alsoi it will explain you that it's Dying Hobby because it does not pay or appreciate anything even after 44+ years.!!

Somalia 1969 Gandhi FDC with 3 stamps was sold for $4
Gabon 1969 Gandhi FDC with Martin Luther King stamp was sold for $5.

Also looks like there is not much interest in it as only one bidder bidding on it.!!

Even 1969 India Gandhi FDC with 4 stamps was sold for 39 cents which is equivalent to 24 Rupees in today's value.!! ( 60 rupees = 1$)

If you invested 7 Rupees in 1969 you will get 24 Rupees in 2013.!! And if dollar rates goes down you will be screwed.!!

In 1969  money conversion from dollar to rupees was 1 $ = 7 Rupees.

So if you invest 1 $ in 1969 Gandhi stamps FDC with 4 stamps then in 2011 you will get 0.40 cents.!!!

A loss of 60 cents.!!!

Can you explain yourself that where is the PAYOFF.!!

If 7 Rupees was just keep in bank for 45 years with 10% interest on it you will get 510 Rupees, which will be $8.50.!! ( 60 x 8.5 ) and no headache at all to get money as don't need worry about keeping FDC in safe place, selling on eBay, mailing to buyer etc.

Your money is safe with nationalized bank.!!

There are more example of Gandhi Centenary FDC which were sold between $2-$3.!! (chances of SHILL Bidding are very high) so you were getting about 150 Rupees if you have invested in Gandhi stamps, but if you invested that in FIXED deposit you might got 510 Rupees.!!

Risks of Stamp Collecting.

Even Uruguay Gandhi stamp is appreciating only 41 cents after 44+ years.!!

You do the math and think how much you will get return on investment if you have invested 100 peso in 1970

The peso was replaced in November 1973 by the nuevo peso (new peso; ISO 4217 code: UYN) at a rate of 1 new peso for 1000 old pesos. The nuevo peso was also subdivided into 100 centésimos.  

After further inflation, the peso uruguay (ISO 4217 code: UYU) replaced the nuevo peso on March 1, 1993, again at a rate of 1 new for 1000 old.          

So even after 44+ years it's not appreciating!! 

Forget about appreciating if you count all inflation then you will be paying from your pocket to keep this in your album and space in closet and also chance of getting damage because of weather or water or fire as it's a piece of paper.!!

On top of it there is lot of headache to sell this as chances are there might be no buyer or it will get lost in mail and you have to pay commission to eBay and PayPal.!!

Also you need to keep all accounting because you have to pay tax on it.!!

Now you need to decide whether it's Paying hobby or Dying hobby.

To me it looks like DYING hobby.

Martin Luther King stamps - Gabon Stamps : Does any one wants to collect stamps ?

Not sure were stamp collection is heading, because I see every day low price or stamps are not selling at all and prices are coming down everyday.

Looks like stamp collection hobby is over and my questions is "Does any one wants to collect stamps?"

Recently I saw Gabon stamps from 1969 Martin Luther King stamps and Mahatma Gandhi stamps first day cover  which was sold for $5.!!!

After 44+ years and one of the 2 famous people stamp on this FDC does not bring any value.!!

After looking to this value to me it looks like no one wants to collect stamps in this modern world, because there are lot of others things to do, such as play video games on ipad, xbox, gamecube or on internet surf on web or facebook or lot of other outdoor activity such a hiking, skating, running etc or watch different shows on TV or sports games such as Cricket or Football or Basketball or just talking on smartphone or chating.!!

After all this kind of things you don't get any more extra time to pursue your hobby of stamp collection were not that many people are involved and you feel like retard when you talk to friends.!!

So what do you think about this Martin Luther King Stamps ?

Also there are lot of cheating such as Forgery stamps, Shill bidding, BOGUS philatelic material  involved in stamps collection.

Martin Luther King Stamp with Gandhi and Kennedy Imperf stamps : How can we tell it's GENUINE.!!

Hello Gandhi Collectors,

How can we tell whether Imperforated (having a straight edge without perforations)  stamps are Genuine ?

There is no real measurement or visual inspection which will indicates it's Genuine.!!  because it don't need perforation (a long series of holes or slits so that paper  can be torn more easily).

Recently Gabon Imperf stamp Scott Catalog # C78 - 81 of Martin Luther King Jr, Mahatma Gandhi Imperf stamp, Kennedy Imperf stamp were not even sold for $15.!!

But one seller is selling this imperf stamps for $180!!!

I am not sure why this imperf set was not sold but to me it looks like lot of factors.

1) Forgery are available more then Genuine not only in Imperf stamps but also in perforated stamps so  it's very hard to believe it's real.

2) I don't think anyone collect stamp of Robert Kennedy and John Kennedy because it's  not interesting collectors and I don't see anyone collect this at all. It's in history books only.!!

3) Martin Luther King Jr stamps are also long gone as no one is even issuing new stamps of him as there is no demand in USA were he was widely popular in 1960 -1980 in philatelic world but after that stamps are in decline.

4) Mahatma Gandhi stamps are in plenty of quantity and looks like forgery & shill bidding is killing this hobby. Also overall stamp collection decline is also affecting it.

So beware what you are buying it because it's very easy to make a COPY in printer and sale it. I am not expert but this is only my opinion what are possibilities in philatelic world.

But now look at the following screenshot from eBay and you decide what will be the pricing of this stamps.

Yes it's $180!! What if you don't know correct pricing and buy this kind of philatelic material for collection.!!

Gabon Stamps - Gabon Gandhi Stamp First Day Cover is one example to make you fool!!

Hello Gandhi Philatelist,

Recently I saw 1998 Gandhi first day cover with stamp from Gabon and it was very surprising.

My personal opinion for this first day cover is not officially issued by Gabon postal service department or this is  DIY (Do It Yourself). using regular home printer.!

Look at the quality of printing Gandhi Cachet. It's not properly aligned also.

It was sold by seller "MARP" from Netherlands and there were 2-3 bidders for this first day cover and it was sold for $27 and looks like there wereonly 2 bidders "0261orthod" and "vmootha"

I don't think this is valued more than $3-4 even if it is genuine so think before you buy. So you need to think/decide how it sold for $27.!!

To me it's a good combination of seller and buyer to make you fool by making you think that this is Genuine/Officially issued F.D.C and it's really valued $27 by bidders.!!

So not sure why $27 for this cover which does not even looks like official cover. Also looking to all forgery in cancellation rubber stamp it does not make sense at all to buy it or even to pay it when whole world is running away from this hobby because of hobby is declining.!!

If you see stamps are not even selling or selling like 5-10 times lower their value than mentioned in catalog.!!

There is nothing RARE or Scare in philately because this hobby is in downward trend because experienced collectors are loosing interest because value is not appreciating and new collectors are not coming in to this because there are lot of other things to do for them such as playing video games on Nintendo or X-box , social networking on facebook or google+ or  surfing on web through internet or SMS through iphone or android or watch games such as cricket, football or basketball.!!

Only way philately can sustain is to stop cheating in this hobby. Yes CHEATING.!! which is what you will see in order to increase value artificially by inflating the price by SHILL bidding, not paying to seller or mutual understanding cancelling transaction and lot more.

Imperf stamps : How hard is to print or photocopy Imperforate Gandhi stamps ? Anyone can make one!!

Hello Gandhi Collectors,

Perforations are the holes or cuts made to allow you to separate stamps in a sheet or roll. Imperforate means that the stamp is either intentionally made like that, requiring the user to use scissors to cut them apart, or that the step was missed, creating an error.

Currently there are lot of imperf stamps or sheet are available from African countries and to me it needs to be thoroughly examined as chances of getting forgery will be very high or sometimes it might not even exist and you will see it as imperf stamps.!!

Following is recently example of imperf stamp from Gabon sold by "Marp" for $60.  I am not telling that this is  fake or forged, but just bringing awareness among the Gandhi stamp collectors.

Reason for higher chances of forgery is because it's very easy to forged. You don't need to worry about perforation and it can be easily printed or photocopied by any high quality printer with high resolution images or even by cutting perforation and recopying it.

Imagination is power.!! I think Einstein said it right and everyone in Gandhi Stamp collection needs to use this before purchasing any stamp or philatelic material so you will never regret of being cheated.!!

And you all know what's going in Gandhi stamps.!!

So beware other wise you will get some kind of color copy instead of imperf stamps.

Cameroun Gabon Mauritius Gandhi stamps value declining.!! Cameorun Martin Luther King stamp and Gabon Kennedy stamp is also declining.!! Why you will quit Gandhi Philately - Part 17

Looks like value of Gandhi stamp is also declining in 2012.

If you see following 3 analyzing of ebay auction on Gandhi Stamps sold on January 7, 2011 you will be surprised by selling price of one of the most famous thematic philately.!!

Cameroun issued lot of different philately material of Gandhi in 1968 along with other 2 popular leader of that time and recently that Cameroun Gandhi triptych stamps along with MLK and Kennedy triptych stamps was sold  for only $4.50!!

Can't beleive that Gandhi stamps after 43 years it is selling at this low price along with other 2 famous leaders.!!

Following are different ways to make money by selling stamps on Internet.

Do you think Gandhi stamps value will ever appreciate going onwards.?

Gabon Gandhi Stamp Sheet : Let's do research on stamp auction bidding on Gabon Kennedy and Martin Luther King stamps sheet with Ghandi stamps.

Today on ebay I saw Gabon Gandhi sheet with MLK and Kennedy's which  was sold for $6.90 with shipping $4 extra. So total of this Gandhi sheet will be $11.!!!  In past it was sold somewhere between $1-3, so I decided to dig more in to it and see what's going on.

Before  you start reading further about this Gabon Gandhi stamp sheet you need to know the seller "raimissss" from LATVIA who auctioned 1400 listings of different stamps in last 15 days and  almost all were sold.!!!! (Yes, complete auctioned of 1400 listings of stamps were sold in 2 weeks.) Please click following ebay link to verify before you read further about this blog post.

Looks like lot of money is flowing in India from ebay buyers.!!

Following screen shot is bidding details of drbhanupratap123.

As per bidding details it looks like he bidded on 50+ bids (26% of 276)  on ramissss items.!!!

Ebay id kamalmedicine is looser of this auction.As per bidding details it looks 25-30bids (9% of 303) were placed by kamalmedicine. 

Now please think what's going on and you will come up with something.!!! You need to solve this kinds of puzzle if you want to be successful in Gandhi Philately and then you can avoid some very big mistakes.!!!

I am not sure why Indian buyer has to go all the Latvia to buy this Gabon Gandhi stamp sheet where as it is available locally on ebay india and pay with Paisapay (india's paypal).  By buying from India they don't have to worry about PAYPAL account as Paypal is very strict on certain condition and it is not working properly with India and lot of restrictions by Indian goverment to use paypal.!!!

Following screenshot is from ebay India where same sheet is available for 550 rupees + 50 Shipping = 600 Rs. which is little bit expensive then India but it's quick and hassle free shopping from India.

Please add this also in your research and solve this puzzle and keep it with you when ever you buy something.!!!

But I am still curious why pay $11 for this sheet when it is available for less than $3-4(with shipping) frequently on delcampe.

Gandhi Stamp Collecting is SCAM. My 3 year experience tell me Yes!!

Gandhi Stamps sheet - sheetlet from Cameroun Gabon Tchad Niger Mauritania Upper-Volta issued in 1968 - 1969. Does it make sense in Gandhi Collection.!!

Hello Gandhi Collectors,

Recently I was researching about Gandhi Stamps from Africa and I was surprised after looking at it.

In 1969, it was Gandhi 100th Birth Anniversary and  it was one of most popular event around the world for Gandhi Philatelist and more than 40+ countries issued stamp of him to honor Mahatma Gandhi.

All 6 sheetlets looks similar and looks like printed at same printing press.!! All of this countries except Tchad issued stamp in 1968.!! Not sure why!!

Also not sure why all this 6 countries did not design differently. My guess is they were following Gandhiji's principles of simplicity.!!!

Again to all new collectors think before you start collecting and see what is the real philatelic. It's not just stamps and sheetlets.!!! If you collect stamp sheetlet like this I think it will not appreciate too much as there are more then enough for all Gandhi Collectors.

 John Kennedy and Robert Kennedy were famous in 1960 because of president and their assasination, but my research indicates that thematic collection of Kennedy's are not popular any more lot of stamps and sheetlets are coming in market. I think same is the case with MLK. It's surprising to see this kind of decline in thematic collection of certain leaders.

I think Gandhi popularity is gaining because economic in India is doing very good since last 10+ years and also lot of NRI who went to foreign countries on H1 Visa are coming back to their childhood hobby so it's in great demand and trying to collect all.!!  But I am not sure how long it will continued and will sustain this kind of popularity of this thematic hobby.!!

Even after this popularity this sheetlet are selling some where between $1-$3 and I think it's a reasonable price after 40+ years.!!

To me it looks a big SCAM is going on not only in Mahatma Gandhi Stamps but all other Mauritius scam by certain dealers on eBay and also on Delcampe so beware when you buy it.

Gandhi stamps are not expensive as it is mentioned in certain articles because there is lot of shill bidding going on not only in Gandhi stamps but also in Indian First Aerial Post cancellation, British India stamps, King George stamps etc.

If you have money to throw away then start collecting  Mauritius, Cameroon, Panama and 1948 India Gandhi stamps and philatelic material and you will have a PIECE of PAPER.

Still cannot decide then read following blog post which might help you.

3) Even Gandhi Stamps are FAKE.!!

Still not decided then my opinion is AVOID it all the cost.!! and have peace of mind instead of worrying you are buying Genuine material at reasonable price.!!!

To me all Gandhi Philatelic material available ( specially before 1950) looks FAKE or Forgery as it is very hard to find Genuine stuff and as new collectors (like me) wants to collect, so some greedy experienced collectors/dealers will provide  all of us as well as experienced collectors.!!

Gabon Gandhi Stamps - Gabon Gandhi, Kennedy, Martin Luther King stamps sheet - Why you will quit Gandhi Philately - Part-14

Hello Gandhi Collectors,

Gabon is in west central Africa sharing borders with Equatorial Guinea to the northwest, Cameroon to the north, and with the Republic of the Congo curving around the east and south. Its capital and largest city is Libreville. Gabon got independence from France on August 17, 1960

In 1968, Gabon issued Mahatma Gandhi stamps/miniature sheets to celebrate 100th Birth Anniversary along with other world leaders  MLK & Kennedy's. This stamps are similar to stamps issued by Cameroun, Mauritania,  Chad and Niger.

Looks like very smartly designed to put all 4 of them so it will trade high in future. But looking to current price it does not looks like it.!!!

Recently all 4 stamps and miniature sheets were sold for only $1 on ebay and delcampe. Now if you buy this Gabon Gandhi stamp for more than $1 than you will quit Gandhi Philately because it does not justify value.

Also don't think Gandhi stamps are for investment as it does not appreciate. It just hobby and to me it looks like it's declining worldwide except India.

(I know I lost value on this but I don't want you to lose.!!)

So don't buy this kinds of stamps/sheets which has no value. Also there are massive number of stamps from Gabon, Cameroun, Tchad, Mauritania so this are not even for investment.
