Indian Philately - India used Singapore - India stamp used abroad - 1854 Lithograph B/172 - Indian Postal History from ebay seller stamp_bay.

Recently Indian Philately sold as  India used Singapore or India stamp used abroad  - 1854 Lithograph B/172  which we also called as Indian Postal History was sold on eBay by "stamp_bay" from California USA for $195.

Buyer is i***a(241).

But I am surprised who in the world collect stamps in this modern internet age!! and paying this much amount for just one single stamp.

Do you really think this was sold for $195 even after seeing on eBay and even with feedback ?

But who cares if buyer is happy then everyone is happy as lot of money from this transaction for seller as well as for eBay as commission as well as all state and federal tax collection agency. Also money for paypal if paid using it.

But I don't know who pays$195 for a piece of paper in this modern high tech world where no one collect stamps as they are busy with other things such as
  • Watching TV such as serial or sports
  • Surfing Internet
  • Watching Youtube or Netflix
  • Playing video games
  • Social Networking like facebook or whatsapp

So do you think anyone have time to collect stamps and spend $195.?

We know forgery of B/172 is available in plenty. Following is one of the example it is sold as forgery, but think it can be sold as genuine or rare.!!!

It's an art of making and selling by telling a STORY. It's all about how you tell story to sell it.

We know how easy is to make rubber stamps and we had seen forgery of rubber stamps it from all countries including BLUM case from Germany.

But we all know how many Forgery stamps as well as rubber stamp are used in Indian Philately or Indian postal history.

So after above blog post what do you think ?

  • Genuine rubber stamp B/172 or FORGERY ?
  • Genuine used India stamp abroad or FORGERY?
  • Genuine eBay transaction where buyer really paid to ebay seller "stamp_bay" and eBay got commission.

Thanks

India 1854 2A Green stamps - British India stamps with BPA cert

India 1854 2A green stamp with Diamond dot cancel was sold for $700 with BPA certificate by eBay seller "select_stamps" from UK.

Do you really think this India 1854 2A green stamp was sold for $700!!

Do you really think India 1854 2A green stamp with BPA certificate has any value.?

Do you really think eBay got commission from this India 1854 2A green stamp transaction (10% of selling price)?

Do you really think rubber stamp Diamond dot is genuine ?

My personal opinion about above question for  India 1854 2A green stamp is NO. (you don't have believe me, it's my opinion)

Reason for not believing in any of the above for India 1854 Green stamp is

1) No one collect stamps any more.
2) Forgeries are available in plenty
3) It's hard to find very genuine old stamp in so many quantity.
4) eBay might not get commission on this as chances are buyer did not paid to seller and seller opened case with ebay for refund.!!
4) BPA cert has no value as they don't take any responsibility as mentioned on the cert.
(neither the company nor the members of the expert committe can accept any liablility, either collective or individual for any opinion expressed.)
5) It's easy to make rubber stamps. Who know which one is genuine or even exist 160+ years ago.

Think how much capital gain tax or VAT needs to be paid in this 1854 India Green stamp sold for $700. I think it will be ($120 -$140) appr.

NOW LOOK AT THE FOLLOWING AND SEE HOW MANY STAMPS FROM INDIA ISSUED IN 1854 WAS SOLD BY EBAY SELLER for under $50.

  • stamp_bay from California, USA
  • asianstamp from Singapore
  • 2874tessa from UK

Why this is sold for under $50.

Are not this genuine stamp from stamp_bay or asianstamp or 2874 ?

They all needs to pay same thing to eBay and VAT or CA tax even it sold for such a low price.?

Why such a difference in pricing for 1854 India green stamps 2A issued by British India rule.

Do you following are Forgery stamps as no BPA cert and that's why it is selling for less price ?

Other India 1854 2A green stamp sold  between $700- $100 from ebay seller

  • anglo-indian-affairs
  • ducati46stamps
  • wellingtonshares

This is common practice to make money.

By creating forgery stamps and forgery rubber stamp and start selling.

Compare with other Indian or British India forgery and think about it.

You know my opinion already and no one  also takes liability.

So what do you think about India 1854 2A stamps.

All are  forgery or genuine ?

Stamp Catalogue of China - "Chan Catalogue" - reference book on Chinese Philately - INDIA1854 1/2A DULL RED DIE SG14

Recently I saw  Imperf stamp SG14 of  INDIA 1854 1/2A Anna  in  bloc of 6 selling for $3500 from ebay seller "jmcoins2009" from Switzerland.

I am not sure whether this kind of stamps are Genuine or FORGERY because it will be hard for someone to save this kind of stamp in MINT condition.

It will be lot of money in 1854.!!!

Unless you stole it from  KING of Britain it will be very hard to come up on eBay.!!

But what I notice seller is using Stamp Catalogue of China  - "Chan Catalogue" -  reference book on Chinese Philately  for pricing.!!

Not sure why not use some standard catalog value.!!

But in last 7 years I had seen more than 1000+ stamps coming on eBay which makes me think it's all FORGERY.

http://gandhistampsclub.blogspot.com/2014/04/expensive-stamps-most-valuable-stamp.html

But some of them sold at high price also. So not sure somebody paid for FORGED stamps.!!

In past I had seen block of 16 was for sale by "stamp_bay" from California.

In past this kind of block of 6 was sold by vivek_nigam from Sunnyvale, California for $1400 with 23 bids on it. (Lot of money for California government from Capital Gain TAX as well as Sales Tax.)

http://gandhistampsclub.blogspot.com/2015/10/1854-british-india-stamps-ebay-bid.html

Looks like California is hotbed for British India stamp collection.!!

  • Do you think this was really sold for $1400 ?
  • Do you think eBay got commission on this transaction ?
  • Do you think California "Franchise Tax Board" got tax money on this stamp sell ?
  • Do you think  California State got sales tax on this ?
  • Do you think USA "Internal Revenue Service" got capital gain tax ?

Do you think no one got money ?
Do you think it's bogus transaction (shill bidding to increase price and buyer did not paid to seller).

India 1854 stamp - Queen Victoria stamps - QV stamp - World's number one Forgery stamps

India 1854 stamp was sold for $8300 by eBay seller "matthijs_philatelie"  from Belgium.

Do you really think this is very valuable stamp and it is sold for $8300 ?

If you think it's lot of money to be invested in stamp when no one collect stamps anymore.!!

But it's generating money everyone.
  • eBay get commission from this transaction (about 10% = $800)
  • VAT for EU (about 20 % = $1600)
  • PayPal (about 2-3% = $150)
  • Belgium government will get Capital Gain TAX on profit (about $1500 - 2000)
  • Seller "matthijs_philatelie" will get rest of it (about $5000)

Now do  you think all of them are making (getting) money ?
  • What if SHILL bidding happens on this transaction and buyer did not paid to seller ? (In this transaction it looks like it, because bidders are very questionable, but it's very hard to tell.!)
  • Seller cancel transaction if buyer did not paid or mutual understanding ?
I had seen lot of SHILL bidding in stamp collection to increase price to look like stamps are
  • for Investment
  • still there is lot of interest in stamp collection
  • to increase price so they can get more money

But to me all this pricing is nothing but FALSE HOPES OF RICHES.!!!

Nobody is making money as I think everything is BOGUS.!!

Also not sure whether stamp is GENUINE because there are more forgery of 1854 stamps than any stamps in the world.!!! (Most FORGERY stamp in world.).

Click following link to read more about 1854 India stamps of Queen Victoria.

Now let's do see some point to be noted.

  • "English India" description does not make sense.
  • There were 7 bidders and 34 bids on it.!!

Now let's see 30-Day Summary of bidders and think whether this high price sense.

Look at the # of bids this bidder are trying to bid on # of items.

To me it looks like they are not collectors but traders.!!!

h**m(417)
Total bids:  257
Items bid on:  131
Bid activity (%) with this seller:  42%

i**i (768)
Total bids:  38
Items bid on:  28
Bid activity (%) with this seller:  100%

----> What this indicates ? ( bidder is only bidding with just one seller.!!)
-----> 28 items from one seller only ?

Do you think it's SHILL bidding ?

Following Gandhi stamps, King George stamp, King Edward stamp, Queen Victoria stamp and stamps of China are Forgery stamps selling as Replica or Facsimile or copy.!!

Here forged stamps seller are not making money. They are just selling as forged items so they make money under $5.

But when this forged stamps is sold as GENUINE, by certain dealers they are making tons of money.!! Like we saw $1009 for Gandhi SERVICE stamp and certain high priced items from British India and China.

Following Mao stamps of China are forged stamps, which might be used on covers or might be selling as genuine stamps or as a used stamps. for 100-150 times more.!!

Following are some of the USED or Mint stamp sold for $2000 -$2500!! What do you think it's a Genuine stamps or forged stamps are sold after lot of bidding.!!!

Following are FORGED King George stamps from British India, Bermuda or any other stamps where British ruled till 1940!!

Following are FORGED queen victoria stamps from India as well as other countries. Chances of getting this stamps as Mint or used with different TYPE of cancel are very high.!!

Don't you surprised by all this FORGERY stamps.!!!

I have in my collection too.!! and I don't hope you  have one in your collection too.!!

Following are some forgery blog post I wrote in past.

1911 First Aerial Mail post forgery card (one of the greatest philatelic blunder in forgery) with receiving and sending postmark.

BOGUS forgery cancellation card of 1911 First Aerial Mail from Allahabad.
Even Queen Victoria overprint stamp of Indian state is forged with RPS certificate.!! Now think what happen to FORGER.!! Nothing.!! As no one cares.

http://gandhistampsclub.blogspot.com/2013/01/rare-stamps-old-stamps-rps-certificate.html
Reprinted label are sold as original 1930 Pre-Independence Gandhi Boycott label!! A philatelic fantasy.!! What a SCAM!!!
Gandhi Boycott British Goods label
Fake 10 Rupees SERVICE stamps is available in large quantity.!!
Gandhi SERVICE FAKE Stamps and Governor Cancellation
What is Tibet 1949 register cover with 1948 Gandhi stamps without stamps from Tibet and Indian Embassy of Nepal?
FAKE 1948 Indian Embassy of Nepal cancellation and Independence day of India
FAKE Gandhi specimen stamp.!!

This is not COUNTERFEIT. It's BOGUS stamp.!! Because no country name on this.!!! (was selling from $43000 -$2000)

FAKE Gandhi specimen stamp.!!
Forged 1948 Gandhi FDC with Indian Embassy of Nepal cancellation!!
Forged 1948 Gandhi Nepal Indian Embassy Cancellation
FORGED India 1948 Gandhi stamps FDC!!
FAKE 1948 Gandhi  stamps "JAI HIND" Cancellation
OVERPRINT stamp issue from Cameroun, Nicragua & Togo. Does not make sense at all someone printing on stamp by mistake. This is delibrate act.

FAKE Overprint Cameroun, Nicaragua stamps and FDC!!
Even FAKE Error stamps. (Color faded with sunlight or other chemicals.!!!)
How to create FAKE error stamps
Why 2009 FAKE or BOGUS (not approved by Germany post) Germany Special Cancellation on October 2nd.? (This makes all 1969 special cancellation questionable!!, because who knows what have happen in 1969.!!). Also don't know up to what stage collector goes to take benefit. !!

BIDDERS!! "hitlerandgandhi" just to glorify Gandhi stamps they increase price of 1948 Gandhi FDC and Used covers.!!! (Images are not enough to understand this so read following blog posts.!!)

I am not expert and I am in this hobby for 4 years only so you don't have to believe me or trust me. But you can think about it. There are more experts with 20-30-40-50 years sitting around with stamp hobby and there are expertizing certificate which might help you.

If you don't want to go through all this don't think as Investment and think as "Philately Greed" and you will be SAFE.

I think collector, dealers, seller, forger will do anything for money such as making BOGUS cancellation from Winnenden to celebrate non-violence for school shooting or plane crash cover, forged 1948 stamps,  Nepal Indian Embassy cancellation, Gandhi SERVICE stamp with forged Sunday cancellation, letter reaching after 2 years or reaching in 3 days from India to France by removing stamps and black ink of rubber stamp etc.

It's nothing new. In stamp collection it has been going on 160+ years since Penny Black. But counterfeit or forgery is going on since 700 B.C. ( 2500+ years).

Don't you think it's a "PHILATELIC GREED"!!

IRS taxes - captial gain tax on stamp collection - philatelic material from USA sellers and dealers - 1855 India stamps Bombay used cover

It's year end so everyone is busy in selling there stocks or stamp collection - philatelic material or coin collection in order to minimize their tax payment as stamp seller have to pay capital gain tax so they can minimize tax payment.

When you sell stamps you have to pay tax to USA government through IRS as well as local government in form of sales tax and state tax.

Sales tax you have to pay no matter if you gain or loss money. It's same like VAT in European countries.

I see lot of high value stamp sold on eBay.

Do all seller pay tax to IRS as well as local government ?

In my last post I wrote about VAT when you sell stamp collection or philatelic material in UK. You can read by clicking following.

Recently I saw 1855 India Queen Victoria stamp used cover sold for $4010 from New Jersey, USA eBay seller "jwalk5" member since 1999.!!

It's lot of money for this 1855 India Queen Victoria stamp used cover there will lot of hidden expenses it occur such as
  • eBay commission
  • PayPal commission
  • Local sales tax  (I paid sales tax when I bought Gandhi stamps from Palo Alto, California seller).
  • State tax
  • Federal tax
Same apply when you buy it from offline auction houses as you will be paying auction fees to them, but taxes will be same either you are seller or dealer or auction houses.

But what happen if UK resident is selling from USA with help of friend of relatives staying in USA ? How they pay tax ?

Chances of Tax invasion is higher when seller try to sell if from multiple countries such as India or UK or Australia or Belgium or Netherlands.!!

So if you buy following Bombay used cover  at $4010 and you sell it for $6010 in future you will not make any money because you have to pay all the above expenses.

Now do you think this is a GENUINE cover from Bombay to Scotland ?

Because we know how easy it is to forged this 1855 QV stamps from India and also how easy rubber stamp is also forged.!!

In past I wrote about 1854 India Queen Victoria forgery stamps. You can read it by clicking following link.

So what do you think about this used cover from Bombay to Scotland ?

Is it Genuine or Forgery ?

STAMPLESS COVER ,NO CONTENTS, BOMBAY TO EDINBURGH MAY 4,1855 WITH FOURTEEN EXAMPLES OF INDIA #2 SIX VERTICAL PAIRS AND TWO SINGLES. MANUSCRIPT MARKING 'PAID INLAND & BRITISH POST VIA BOMBAY & SOUTHAMPTON' RED PAID 25 JUL 25 1855, BOXED RED 'INDIA PAID, 'PM' DOUBLE CIRCLE BOMBAY 4 MAY 1855 AND BLACK DATE STAMP JUN W 26 M 1855. BLACK DIAMOND KILLERS ON ALL STAMPS.ON ONION SKIN PAPER.

If you see above screenshot you will see there was lot of interest in this cover. There were 11 bidders and 37 bids.!!

Do you think there is SHILL bidding in this transaction in order to increase price and glorify this philatelic material.

I am not sure whether ebay transaction is a Genuine or something else.  Do you think it is really bought and sold.?

I don't think this FDC should be more than $100 or 200 or 300.!! So what do you think about this FDC pricing and transaction.?

Also there are lot of cheating such as Forgery stamps, Shill bidding, BOGUS philatelic material  involved in stamps collection.

Want to know more about FAKE and FORGERY stamps then checkout other blog post click one of the following link and you will be surprised.!!!

1) Philatelic FAKE and FORGERIES.
2) FAKE AERO PHILATELY Covers.
3) Stamp collection CHEATING.
4) Stamp Collection Value
5) Stamp Collecting Facts
6) China stamp collection value.
7) First AirMail Post
8) World First Flight Cover
9) Greatest Stamp Collection Scandal
10) Biggest stamp collection SCAM
11) SCANDAL in stamp collection
12) How to increase stamp collection value

Following is information from IRS regarding tax on collections such as stamps or coins.  Please make sure you know what you are doing other wise IRS  is very strict on tax collection.

Now let's get back to point.

Do you think eBay will get commission from this transaction ? ($400 mandatory)

Do you think PayPal will get commission from this transaction if this is default payment of seller ?

Do you think IRS as well as local government and state government will benefit from this kind of transaction ?

Do you think this is real value ($4010) of Bombay used cover ?

Do you think it's a genuine transaction where buyer paid money  to seller, or seller open case with eBay to cancel transaction so he/she don't have to pay commission to eBay as well as he/she don't have to pay any taxes.?

Thanks

1854 British India Stamps - eBay Bid retraction CHEATING.

Recently 1854 British India Stamps was sold for $1400 with 23 bids  and 6 bidders which was sold by "vivek_nigam" from Sunnyvale, California.

Looks like lot of money are spend on stamps even though there are no new collectors coming in to this hobby and world wide stamp hobby is declining.!!

But who cares about that as  everyone is benefiting including seller, eBay shareholders, PayPal shareholders, California state government and USA Fedral government as all of them will benefit with this kind of transaction.

Did eBay shareholder are benefiting from this kind of sell.? (Disclosure :- I am eBay shareholder holding eBay shares in personal and retirement account)

Because of all of them will get their fair share from revenue as well as profit by means of some kind of tax.

But what if everyone is CHEATED ?

I will skip about stamp cheating (forgery stamp) itself as in past I wrote blog post about this 1854 stamps as forgery selling as genuine but we will focus on how BIDDING works.

But still want to get awareness about forgery stamp selling as genuine then click following link to know about FORGERY stamps.

Do you think you are cheated by eBay Bid Retraction ?

I will provide you some info so you can decide yourself about eBay Bid Retraction make sense to you or not.

It's a very big thing in stamp collecting hobby as well as other online transaction.

  1. In order to increase price one has to do CHEATING by one of the following way.Seller will do SHILL bidding by opening other accounts on eBay and bidding with it. If it reach highest price you retract.!!
  2. Also seller friends who are also collectors will bid on it to increase price (again SHILL bidding) and if you bid is highest than retract.!!!
  3. Bidder will not pay after increasing price and not paying to seller. Seller has to cancel the transaction by working with eBay

For 1 and 2 you will have to pay commission to eBay if you are winning but if you retract your bid before auction close than you don't have to, but price will be reached to maximum for other bidders.!!

So if you put $1400 as your maximum bid and someone bid upto $1450 and than retract, you will be the winner but your price is increased.!!

Following is classic example of above cheating.!!

http://gandhistampsclub.blogspot.in/2011/12/mali-gandhi-stamps-do-you-think-gandhi.html

Let's see following transaction of India 1854 half anna block of 6 Die 2 good part of watermark on back stamp which was sold by "vivek_nigam".

1854 British India Stamps - eBay Bid retraction

There are 6 bidders interested in this 1854 British India block of 6 stamp.

a***c(117), i***c(273), d***i(1248), v***v(619), a**u(60)

Now if you see all of the bidders they have BID RETRACTION or very high number of bidding.

So what this BID RETRACTION indicates to you.?

Now let see a***c(117) details.

14 eBay Bid retraction.

Now let see i***c(273) details on 1854 British India Stamps  and eBay Bid retraction

6 eBay Bid retraction
but look at total bids 142 on 125 items.!!

Now let see d***i(1248) details on 1854 British India Stamps  and eBay Bid retraction

no eBay Bid retraction, but look at total bids 2325 on 526 items.!!

What this total bids indicates to you ?

Now let see i***n(857) details on 1854 British India Stamps  and eBay Bid retraction

47 eBay Bid retraction in past 6 months.!!

But only bidding on 16 items in past 30 days.!!

So what do you think about BID RETRACTION, after seeing all this retraction!!

Do you think you are cheated ever by BID RETRACTION.?

Did buyer of this stamp paid to seller ?

Did seller paid commission to eBay ?

But I can see this or similar stamp  1854 stamps is again for auction (Fixed price) for sale for $1250 instead of $1400.!!

Do you think there are lot of 1854 stamps are still available in mint condition  and that also in block of 6 ?

Thanks
GSC.

In past I saw 207 bid retraction.!! Click following link to read it.
