Recently Indian Philately sold as India used Singapore or India stamp used abroad - 1854 Lithograph B/172 which we also called as Indian Postal History was sold on eBay by "stamp_bay" from California USA for $195.
Buyer is i***a(241).
But I am surprised who in the world collect stamps in this modern internet age!! and paying this much amount for just one single stamp.
Do you really think this was sold for $195 even after seeing on eBay and even with feedback ?
But who cares if buyer is happy then everyone is happy as lot of money from this transaction for seller as well as for eBay as commission as well as all state and federal tax collection agency. Also money for paypal if paid using it.
But I don't know who pays$195 for a piece of paper in this modern high tech world where no one collect stamps as they are busy with other things such as
- Watching TV such as serial or sports
- Surfing Internet
- Watching Youtube or Netflix
- Playing video games
- Social Networking like facebook or whatsapp
So do you think anyone have time to collect stamps and spend $195.?
We know forgery of B/172 is available in plenty. Following is one of the example it is sold as forgery, but think it can be sold as genuine or rare.!!!
It's an art of making and selling by telling a STORY. It's all about how you tell story to sell it.
We know how easy is to make rubber stamps and we had seen forgery of rubber stamps it from all countries including BLUM case from Germany.
But we all know how many Forgery stamps as well as rubber stamp are used in Indian Philately or Indian postal history.
So after above blog post what do you think ?
- Genuine rubber stamp B/172 or FORGERY ?
- Genuine used India stamp abroad or FORGERY?
- Genuine eBay transaction where buyer really paid to ebay seller "stamp_bay" and eBay got commission.
Thanks
