GANDHI HANDBOOK - MANIK JAIN & M K RAY - A stamp and philatelic handbook review

Recently I saw Gandhi Handbook by Manik Jain and M.K.Ray sold for $40.!

After one of the famous 1948 Gandhi  stamp collector recommended to buy this book to start my Gandhi stamps and philatelic collection, but if I have followed this book it would be disaster to me because I might have lost lot of money.!

As per him this book is consider as bible of Gandhi stamps and philatelic material.!!

But I used my brain and thought about all that things inside this Gandhi Handbook and it does not make sense.

Also there are names of other stamp collectors or philatelist who did not say any word about this incorrect information or forgery material or stolen material or BOGUS (never exist) material in it.

Not only that they also provided material to this book.!!!

But no one know who provided which stamps or philatelic material!!

It's all suspense.

Now I know why he recommended this.!! (To collect all forgery material and Bogus material he had made with cartel !! and exhibited online and around the world.).

I own this book for 5+ years and I though let me write review of this book like Amazon.
  • This is a USELESS book - because it has nothing but lot of  FORGERY material published.
  • Even some basic information about used covers or special cancellation are INCORRECT.
  • This book  collection of forgery covers made by  various collectors who has given to authors to publish in this book and looks like it's not verified whether this are genuine or forgery?

Does it make sense to buy this book ?

No

Will this help to start Gandhi stamp collection ?

No. (Don't buy 1948 Gandhi stamps and IMPERF stamps  or stamps and FDC printed after 1969.)

Will I recommend this book to a friend ?

No. (Only if I want to sell my  forgery or bogus philatelic material which are printed in this book).

Which are some of the FAMOUS philatelic material in the book does not make sense.?

  • List is very long. Almost 70% of philatelic material don't make sense, such as

  1. Gandhi SERVICE stamp
  2. Gandhi SERVICE stamp used by Governor General
  3. 1948 Gandhi stamp Special Cancellation with "Jai Hind" issued from various cities of India.
  4. 1948 Gandhi FDC from Nepal Indian Embassy
  5. 1948 Gandhi Specimen stamp
  6. 1948 Gandhi leather Gandhi Folder
  7.  I AM TIRED OF TYPING ALL FORGERY AND BOGUS.!!

DON'T COLLECT GANDHI STAMPS OR INDIA STAMPS so you will be safe.!!

Also don't follow any online Gandhi stamp exhibit. It is also nothing but display of Forgery and FAKE philatelic items, but they are award winning exhibit.!!

Philatelic judges use this Gandhi Handbook as no one know what happened in 1948 or 1949 or 1950.!!

You don't have to follow my review and you can do what ever you want to do. Above is my personal opinion.

Thanks
GSC.

Gandhi Handbook - Gandhi Stamps Collectors - Gandhi Philatelist - Gandhi stamp seller.

My personal opinion or review (it's up to you to believe it or not, same way like amazon book review ) about Gandhi Handbook is nothing but collection of  NEVER EXISTED or ISSUED or BOGUS or FAKE Gandhi stamps and philatelic material.

It's not worth buying it at all.

I bought this after recommendation by one famous Gandhi stamp collector or Gandhi philatelist. Even his/ber name don't exist in Gandhi Handbook, but he/she has all that BOGUS material on his/her online exhibition.

But after buying it I came to know what kind of BOGUS stuff is printed inside to CHEAT new collectors or super RICH people who wants to invest as alternative investment.

Also this Gandhi Handbook is used by Auction House to make reference of this BOGUS stamp as this is the only available source of Gandhi stamps and philatelic material.

Philatelic exhibition judges also use this as reference as well as some self acclaimed Expert use it too.!!

Recently I was looking in to Gandhi Handbook or Gandhi Philatelic Handbook or Gandhi Postal History Handbook and I was surprised to read about Gandhi SPECIMEN stamp presented in BLACK VELVET FOLDER by Indian Embassy in Switzerland.

According to me this is BOGUS or FAKE (not forgery, as it was not made by Indian Embassy).

There is EMBLEM of INDIA (3 lion face) you see on top of this black velvet folder was not authorized  until 1951.

So how can it be on the official folder prepared by Indian Embassy in 1948 ?

To me this GANDHI HANDBOOK is nothing by collection of FAKE philatelic material related to Gandhi.

Even lot of Gandhi stamp collectors and Gandhi philatelist were involved in providing stamps and philatelic material for this Gandhi Handbook and were acknowledge by the author. So how can this kind of thing published in this Gandhi Handbook.

Did they don't even notice ?

No one proof read it ?

No one write about it after printing  that  beware of Gandhi Handbook it's  BOGUS. (never exist). It's FAKE.

I am not sure why no one said any word about it.!! Even after 10-15 years of this Gandhi Handbook was published.!!

There are more than 200+ BOGUS or Forgery or questionable content in this Gandhi Handbook and why no Gandhi stamps collector or Gandhi Philatelist or any philatelist did not write about this on there blog or website or weekly or monthly newsletter.!! (Because everyone is involved ?)

Even 1948 Gandhi official folder from post & telegraph department of India don't have Emblem of India.

So why Embassy in Switzerland used Emblem of India. It's  made some  Gandhi collector to make money.!!

By putting EMBLEM OF INDIA creator of this BOGUS leather or velvet folder from EMBASSY OF INDIA wants to make sure it looks genuine.

Also Emblem of India was used on BOGUS special cancellation from Winnenden Germnay in 2008 which was selling for $100.!! (A rubber stamp selling for $100).

http://gandhistampsclub.blogspot.com/2011/08/it-back-again-fake-winnenden-germany.html

Look who is selling that Winnenden special cancellation.

Even Emblem of India was used in Brazil folder also.!!

http://gandhistampsclub.blogspot.com/2013/01/emblem-of-india-on-1948-gandhi-special.html

Also overprint SPECIMEN stamp are BOGUS, same way Gandhi SERVICE stamp which is marketed as Governor General official use.!!

Gandhi Handbook is collection of Gandhi stamps as well as philatelic material provided by famous Gandhi stamp collectors and Gandhi Philatelist as well as DEALERS who sell's on eBay.

So now you know what kind of material are selling on eBay and why they want there collection to publish.

Also some of the famous award winning philatelist have also provided their collection in this Gandhi Handbook .

Following are some of the famous Gandhi stamps collectors who have won medal in India as well as International stamp exhibition who have given their

  • Thoughts
  • Suggestions
  • Illustrations
  • Overall encouraging gesture.

Other INCORRECT information in Gandhi Handbook.

http://gandhistampsclub.blogspot.com/2013/08/gandhi-handbook.html

http://gandhistampsclub.blogspot.com/2013/09/philatelic-handbook-can-you-trust.html

Are Gandhi stamp collectors are involved in big SCAM or RACKET to make money?

I am not sure about your opinion but my experience tells me YES. They are involved very deeply after dealing  and interacting with some of the famous award winning Gandhi stamps collector and philatelist who are also big time eBay seller.

So BEWARE it's a big SCAM.!!

Don't trust Gandhi Handbook.!!

Trust your brain.!!

Think whether this possible.!!

Other wise your kids will regret it and blame you after you die.!!

It's up to you. It's your money.!!

Thanks
GSC.

Also there are lot of cheating such as Forgery stamps, Shill bidding, BOGUS philatelic material  involved in stamps collection.

Want to know more about FAKE and FORGERY stamps then checkout other blog post click one of the following link and you will be surprised.!!!

1) Philatelic FAKE and FORGERIES.
2) FAKE AERO PHILATELY Covers.
3) Stamp collection CHEATING.
4) Stamp Collection Value
5) Stamp Collecting Facts
6) China stamp collection value.
7) First AirMail Post
8) World First Flight Cover
9) Greatest Stamp Collection Scandal
10) Biggest stamp collection SCAM
11) SCANDAL in stamp collection
12) How to increase stamp collection value

Now does it make sense to collect stamps ?

But now you know my 15 steps to make money on internet.!! and following four blog post will make you expert in making money.!!

Jal Cooper Gandhi FDC - Gandhi Handbook

In Nov 2017 Gandhi FDC send to Jal Cooper was sold for $1600 ($2100 AU) by Australia eBay seller "8479smacma".

This transaction will get lot of money for

1) Australia government from GST rule eBay seller will be charged 10% of selling price.
2) eBay will get around 10% commission on this transaction
3) PayPal will get 2-3% of commission on this transaction.

On top of that Australia government will get Income Tax or Capital Gain Tax on this Gandhi FDC send to Jal Cooper.

We all know Jal Cooper was stamp collector, dealer,  philatelist and expert, same way like me and you.

But we know what stamp collector do.! create forgeries and fake in order to make money.!!

Lot of Jal Cooper material came after his death and it contains lot of Gandhi Philatelic material including Gandhi SERVICE stamps.!!

You can read my blog about Jal Cooper and you decide what's going in Gandhi Philatelic material. Whether you can trust Jal Cooper or not.!!

Jal Cooper selling stamps.

Also lot of material of Jal Cooper is included in Gandhi Handbook  for stamps and Philately  which was published after his death.

We all know how much fake, forgery and incorrect information is information is included in Gandhi Handbook.

Gandhi Handbook of Stamps and Philately

We know all about Special Cancellation issued in 1948. Most of them  are FAKED. Even Bombay special cancellation has multiple forgery

So beware what are you buying it.

So what do you think about Jal Cooper and Gandhi FDC ?

Thanks
GSC.

Gandhi Handbook - A review of stamp collecting handbook

Gandhi Handbook is one of the place where collectors and judges will look to find more info.

But do you know this Gandhi Handbook has lot of incorrect information.

Not only incorrect information but lot of FAKE or BOGUS philatelic material as well as imperforated stamps information is there.

It will be very hard to find out what is genuine!!

Most BOGUS/FAKE (never exist) info is about 1948 Gandhi stamps and philatelic materials.

Recently this Gandhi Hand Book was sold for $18 at eBay India site (ebay.in).

All philatelic material in this book was provided by  Gandhi stamps collector.!!!

So lot of FAKE/BOGUS material which was never issued by official government is printed in it.

So BEWARE when you look at this Gandhi stamp handbook.

If you are philatelic Judge don't use this book as reference otherwise you are putting your credit at risk.!!

If you are issuing Expert Certificate on philatelic material don't use this book as reference.

If you are collector please avoid this as reference to collect RARE, UNIQUE, ONE OF A KIND or only 100 printed.!!

Thanks

Cameroun Moon Landing overprint stamps on Martin Luther king and Kennedy stamps - STAMP COLLECTION IS ALL ABOUT MAKING MONEY.!!

In past I wrote about ERROR stamps, which are not actual error but purposely made for ERROR.!!

One of the famous error stamp is from Cameroun which was overprinted to make it error by overprinting about MOON LANDING on Gandhi, M.L.King, (M.L.K) and Kennedy stamp issued in 1968 and overprinting in 1969.!!

Even though it's is consider error stamp we can see this stamp widely used for postage.

My opinion about this Error stamp is nothing but overprinted to increase value.!!

How can someone are so dumb/foolish who will overprint on this stamps. It cannot be consider as ERROR stamp (but biggest SCAM).

Just buy some sheet and overprint it and start sending postal cover by making forged rubber stamp like we see it in Gandhi SERVICE stamp.!!

It's all about making MONEY and nothing about stamp collection.!!

This cover were send to brothers who were stamp dealers J.H.Stolow  (Julius & Henry) r as well as stamp Expertiser who issue certificate.

J.H. Stolow also was involved with bogus stamp issues for the The Republic of South Maluku.!!

Recently I saw two used cover with Gandhi stamps, Kennedy stamps, M.L.King stamps with overprint Moon Landing on it sold for $135 from eBay seller "gdstamps".

But if you compare this auction with previous auction the price has gone down.( From 456, $300 to $135).

Also # of bidders has also gone done (just one)

Also starting price came up instead of starting at minimum price of 99 cents.!! (so they don't have to do SHILL bidding in order to increase price.!!)

Do you think eBay shareholder's are getting benefit from this kind of transaction where they will get about $27 (10% of $270) from commission ?

It is also mentioned in Gandhi Handbook as Optd. stamps on Regd Commerical Cover.

We know we cannot trust Gandhi Handbook as there is lot of false and misguided information in it.

Look at above image and see how many types of ERRORS were made.!! (Thick, Thin, Inverted..................)

In past I wrote about this cover

Why Cameroun Commerically Used Covers is costly? -Gandhi stamps overprinting.

Cameroun Gandhi Stamps First Day Cover : It's looks like a BUBBLE in Cameroun Gandhi Stamps!!

Following cover was sold for $250+ (US dollars) with John Kennedy and Robert Kennedy stamps with Gandhi stamps (one in front and other in  back).

I am not sure why they did this overprinting instead of making a new stamp?

Following cover was sold for $450+ (US dollars) with Martin Luther King(one in front and other in  back)  stamps with Gandhi stamps in front.

Did you notice from above images that this covers has RUBBER stamp from different cities.? Yaounde, Douala,

So now question is

Do you think one bidder really bought this  covers  even though I wrote about this?

Don't you think people search web in order to get it kind of used cover ?

You can compare RUBBER stamps on this cover and decide what's going on with stamp collection ?

It's all about making money.!!

Someone will make money by writing.

Someone will make money by overprinting stamps

Someone will make money by creating bogus covers.

Thanks
GSC.

Forgery stamps - Bogus Stamps - Overprint stamps - King George Stamp - Jal Cooper - Gandhi Handbook - Making money on eBay !!

BOGUS stamp is nothing but it NEVER exist or never printed by official postal department.

(We can call BOGUS stamp as Cindrella stamp also. In philately, a cinderella stamp is "virtually anything resembling a postage stamp, but not issued for postal purposes by a government postal administration.)

Forgery stamps are stamps which are forged by reprinting it and selling as genuine.!!

Overprint stamps are created for special purpose usage by King/Queen or government use,  but this is mostly BOGUS.!!

BOGUS stamp is creation of some smart person who wants to make unique stamps so it can generate lot of money.

Click to read about Most Expensive stamps of India.

http://gandhistampsclub.blogspot.com/2012/11/most-expensive-stamp.html

Now look at following Gandhi SERVICE overprint stamp.

Do you think Gandhi SERVICE stamp is Genuine or Bogus stamps ?

My personal opinion about Gandhi SERVICE  Overprint stamps is BOGUS. (you don't have to believe me). You can do your own research as you have to pay money.

What I am thinking about this overprint Gandhi SERVICE stamp is that One or more smart stamp collectors/dealers/Expert created unique stamp by OVERPRINTING on 1948 Gandhi stamp which was fourth stamp of India after Independence.

There was no overprint SERVICE stamp for first three stamps of India!!

http://gandhistampsclub.blogspot.com/2014/08/overprint-stamps-first-stamp-of-india.html

Why no overprint SERVICE on  first three Indian stamps ? (because it's not famous as Gandhi stamp).

If this stamp  is without overprint SERVICE then it might be selling for less than $10 or no one will buy it but with overprint SERVICE  it is selling for $950 on eBay by seller "stamp_bay".

Above is another set of four was sold for $404 by eBay seller "pristinephilatelics" from Sunnyvale, California.

eBay shareholders will be benefited from this kind of  auction from commission ($40) as well as California Government will kind some kind of sale tax as well as state tax from seller.

As per reading material available on internet, handbooks this Overprint SERVICE stamp was made only for Governor General of India and it should not be available for general public or use.

Following letter from Gandhi Handbook written by V.J.Moore  assistant secretary can prove that. It is  dated 12th August 1949  in Gandhi Handbook (page 197) that this stamp is only for official correspondence of Governor General.

We know if stamps are forged then it's easy to forged letter head of  Assistant Secretary letter ?

My personal opinion about this letter is also BOGUS. Does not make sense at all as it is using old letterhead after 2 years of Independence with seal of England "Private Secretary office".
and cancelling "Viceroy's Camp, India" and typing/printing Government House, New Delhi.!!

Following is part of page 197 for your reference. If you want to see more then refer Gandhi Handbook.

(My personal opinion about this letter is BOGUS. Reason for that is there is no other official information such as address, phone # etc.).

Also chances of  below letter can be forgery, as we had seen in Expertising certificate.

But above article might be BOGUS too as it's easy to print it and type it up to make this stamps are genuine.

Also this might be in the book to prove this Gandhi SERVICE stamp is Genuine.!!

As this is in Gandhi Handbook it's does not mean that this is Genuine. We  know how incorrect and wrong information are in Gandhi Handbook without any verification so we cannot trust this  Handbook. (My personal opinion about Handbook and you don't have to believe me.!)

I don't think SERVICE stamp was actual made for Governor General of India but it was creation of some group of  collectors or dealers in order to make money.

They glorified this stamp by exhibiting, writing about it and we are still believing it.

What you read on online exhibit or philatelic blogs/websites/handbook is nothing but a Cinderella story (like Disney princess) which someone told to world.!!

But I saw letter from JAL COOPER selling this overprint SERVICE stamp ?.

How he was selling this SERVICE stamps ? (should not be only for Governor-General use only)

Did he stole it from Government  or bought stolen stamps from someone ?

Did he forged it ? (overprint is easy).

Did someone else created this BOGUS overprinted stamp and used his name to make it authentic.?

(This letterhead as information about everything you need to know about Jal Cooper. To me it look authentic information, but still it can be printed so chances of forgery is high).

So whom to trust ?

Gandhi handbook or Jal Cooper or no one ?

Also as per following  news article collectors were dependent on Jal Cooper instead of any official letter from Postal Department.

Now to make it more interesting FORGERY rubber stamp was used to create more authentic look and affix this stamp on paper.!!

You know it's very easy to create rubber stamp so it's not a big deal.

Also this kind of stamps are made very popular by some current collectors who displayed in their online exhibit, websites, stamp collection blogs, stamps forum, stamps newsletter as well as giving interview to newspaper.

Also this is made famous in Philatelic Handbook, Stamp Year Books etc which is nothing but marketing tool for philatelic material.

This Forgery stamps - Bogus Stamps - Overprint stamps  with King George Stamp is widely displayed in Gandhi stamps Handbook without proper explanation or thinking or making any sense.

Why it was overprinted SERVICE on 4th stamp of India. It was not done on 1st or 2nd or 3rd stamps.!!

Now if you look following screenshot you will be surprised that this was sold for $108.!!

Don't you think it's easy to make money on eBay.!!

$108 is lot of money if you think for this piece of paper.!!

To make it more unique and rare it was used with King GEORGE stamp of India.!!  So they can make money from multiple thematic stamps collectors.!!

In past I wrote about this Gandhi SERVICE stamp which never exist as it was just created to make me and you fool.!!

My illustrations this week proves that some Gandhi stamps were overprinted for offical use. Mr. Jal Cooper writes from Bombay that last year he was shown examples of the 1 1/2 and 3 1/2 annas in used condition : as postmarks were in distinct he awaitied further developments. Now it is defeinetly know that several sheets each of the 1 1/2 , 3 1/2 and 12 annas were overprinted with the word "SERVICE" and these were issued to Rajagopalchari. (read more from above image).

Why someone has to prove that there was SERVICE overprint stamps ?

Don't you think it should be official published by postal department as well as Government of India in 1948.?

Do you think it's a SCAM to make money going on by Jal Cooper ?

Do you think someone is using Jal Cooper name to make this Genuine stamp?

Now after reading all this do your brain think that  Gandhi SERVICE stamp is BOGUS ?

Thanks
GSC.

PHILATELIC HANDBOOK : CAN YOU TRUST ?

Hello Gandhi Philatelist,

After finding incorrect information in Gandhi Handbook, I was more curious about this Gandhi Handbook more than ever.

You can read my blog post about Philatelic Gandhi handbook by clicking following link to understand about this Philatelic handbook blog.

Not only that now everyone needs to look at other Philatelic handbook in similar way because chances are higher of forgery or Bogus philatelic material might have enter in philatelic book because any philatelist can give their material to philatelic handbook publisher in order to glorify.

There is no way author can verify the authenticity of all the philatelic material as it will be very very difficult to get information about certain material as this might be BOGUS since begin with and it might be glorified years ago.

Also I found out that my write up in blog and Gandhi Handbook differs in lot of philatelic material.!! So I am not sure who is right and who is wrong.

I am not here trying to prove right or wrong, but my only goal or aim is to educate if any new stamp collectors who are trying to collect stamps and philatelic material so they know where they are jumping.!!

Any ways there are very few new stamp collectors are jumping in this stamp collection because it's does not make sense in this current high tech world with all kinds of technology available such as internet, video games, online social media such as facebook, twitter etc and there is very less time for new generation to do this 150 year old hobby.

I have this Gandhi philatelic handbook with me for 3+ years but it never motivated me to read in depth because it has nothing but photographs/images without any detail description, but now I am reading it.

I had no intention to buy this book 3+ years ago, but on advice of one of the famous Gandhi collector I bought it and now I regret it because according to me it's nothing but glorification of Gandhi stamps and to me some of philatelic material does not make sense.

So from that experience I never trusted philatelist advice, because they gave advice for their own benefit.!! It's hard to understand initially but eventually I figured it out.

They divert me to look in to this Gandhi Philatelic handbook and try to buy some of the BOGUS philatelic material.

This was not first time a Gandhi Philatelist (stamp dealer/seller) who try to cheat me.!! Previously other Gandhi stamp collector try to increase price on which I was bidding it.!! Read following blog post to understand one of the CHEATING method in Gandhi philately as well as might be in other philatelic collection.

In this Gandhi Handbook there is information about Mali 1978 Gandhi First Day cover, stamp and Imperf stamps.

Following is image from Gandhi Handbook about Mali Gandhi stamps which cover more about Imperf stamps than regular stamp and first day cover.!!

In past I had wrote about this Mali Gandhi first day cancellation as Forgery on Maximum card, because it does not make sense when you compare it with other Mali first day cover. Also it differs from 1969 Gandhi First day cover from Mali.

So this Gandhi Handbook does not have information about about both type of cancellation and it will be very hard to find out which is Genuine and which one is forged.!!

Or both are forged.!! As I cannot go back and trace information about 35+ years ago.!! I have to depend on philatelist or some kind of magazine. Also Mali is small country in Africa and you all know what's happening there.!!

In past I claimed following left hand cancellation FORGED or BOGUS where as other two as genuine.!!

Following is my blog post where  I mentioned one of this cancellation as forgery on Gandhi Max card.

From following two images can you tell me which is genuine and which is forgery or both are genuine or both are forged.!!

According to me right hand side and center one is GENUINE and other on left side is FORGERY/BOGUS.

I am not sure where to do research because there is incomplete information in Gandhi Handbook where one of the first day cover is missing and I proclaimed that as a genuine when I compared with 1969 Mali Gandhi first day cover.

Any reference book such as encyclopedia, dictionary , handbook etc were general people look for more research, but when this reference books are incorrect then it's very hard to trust that material.

There is no way to find information from Mali government or Mali philatelist because in 1969 it was very  hard to contact and  communicate like I did for BOGUS Germany 2009 Gandhi special cancellation on personal/customized stamp from Winneden Germany.!!

Also chance of archival of any data from Mali government will be impossible.

We all know how easy is to make rubber stamp and apply on cover or piece of paper.!! Following are some of them.!!

Read and compare my following blog post about  BOGUS FORGED Gandhi stamps and philatelic cancellation with rubber stamp applied on piece of paper or envelope and trying to MAKE huge money instead of selling just MINT stamps.!!

All of the above are BOGUS or FORGED or possible Bogus or Forged rubber stamps applied on piece of paper or envelope.!!

So which is genuine cancellation on Mali Gandhi FDC and which is forgery or both are forgery.!! ?

Let me know if you have any information about Gandhi Mali 1978 first day cover so I can update my blog after throughly verification of information provider.

Would you trust Gandhi Handbook for your collection ?

My personal opinion is " I don't trust Gandhi Handbook" because it don't have enough written information about philatelic material mentioned in the book as chances of Bogus and Forgery material might have been published unknowingly.

Don't you think it's very complicated to collect stamps and philatelic material.!!

Philatelic Handbook can be trusted ?

Thanks
