WWF Animal stamps - ovp stamps - Burundi stamps

Burundi is one of the smallest countries in Africa and as per United Nations Burundi's GDP is 193 in the world.!!

It's GDP is $251.

But if you see 1983 (1984) WWF logo ovp stamps are selling for more than $350 on eBay by seller "segell"  , "matthijs_philatelie"  and "wwf_stamps".

This stamps were issued between 2 civil wars 1972 and 1990 in Burundi. Also there is civil war going on as I write this blog post but stamps are selling like money grows on tree.!!

Do you think these WWF animal stamps were needed for Burundi ?

My personal opinion is that this are BOGUS stamp without any value. Just made for collectors.!!

Actual people of Burundi might not even seen this stamps.

In past I wrote blog post about "hOW TO INCREASE PRICE OF YOUR STAMPS ON eBAY". Click and read about  it so you get idea why this stamps are $350+!!

After reading above blog post, do you think one of the method is applied to this auction ?

Just piece of paper selling for more than GDP of one of poorest country in world.!!

Do you think anyone in Burundi cares about this WWF stamps ?

Don't you think this are MADE for collectors instead of actual use.!!

Do this poor country need this many stamps ?

Can they afford to print this many stamps and store it  and distribute to all post office and sell it ?

Do you think this is REAL price ?

What I mean is that you can bid any price and don't have to pay in order to increase price to glorify this stamps.!!

Do you think eBay got commission from this transactions ?

If all 3 transaction are REAL and seller paid commission eBay will get $105 from this transaction and eBay shareholders are benefiting from this kind of  auction ?

Also what I think is that all this pricing is bogus as chances of eBay getting commission is very low or none because buyer might be shill bidder and did not paid to seller, so seller will open case and will not have to pay commission.!!

There are 28 bids, 30 bids and 1 bid on these transactions.

Do you think there is so much interest in this stamps ?

AMAZING PRICE OF STAMP COLLECTION - S. Tome stamp of Peace, Red Cross stamp, UNO stamp,Nobel stamp, M. Ghandi, M.L.King stamp

Can some one justify me price of 1986 Sao Tome and Principe stamp. It was sold for $272.!!

Don't you like this kind of price for your stamp collection also.!!

This S. Tome stamp of  Peace, Red Cross, UNO , Nobel, M. Ghandi, M.L.King is nothing but false hope of riches stamp collection.

According to me it's worthless for stamp collection because it does not make sense.!! ( Disclosure : I have this in my collection bought it under $5.!!)

But will not buy it now after learning stamp collection.!!

The price of this stamp collection is $272 was sold by "mkazmar" of Poland.!!

eBay will get commission of $27 on this transaction + PayPal fees so looks good for eBay shareholders.

Don't you think so.

(Disclosure : I am eBay shareholder in my personal as well as retirement account).

I will not able to know whether commission was paid or not because it's impossible for others to know except buyer, seller and eBay.!!

So I cannot say that this is false transaction and chances of eBay shareholders getting is high if it is paid.!

So what are chances of seller not paying to buyer so eBay will not get commission from this sell ?

Even though this transaction used eBay infrastructure.?

Reason for this stamp has no value because it's not a unique or rare stamp, but it's nothing but piece of paper make specially to make money.

Stamp from this kind of small countries have no idea that even this stamp exist because dealers print it and sell to some small time collectors and they try to increase price by  SHILL bidding or FAKE bidding (buyer don't pay seller) in order to  justify importance of this stamp.

Same stamp was sold for $70!!

SO what is going on ?

Are stamp buyer idiots!! ?

Or stamp seller smarter?

Following are such stamp which you or new collector will see price of more than $200 after 30+ years which has no value.

So don't think what you see on eBay is real.!!

Also think about what you are collecting.!!

Thanks
GSC

Flag stamps - Famous People stamps - GANDHI GEORGE WASHINGTON LENIN CHE GUEVARA SIMON BOLIVAR STAMPS

Hello Stamp Collectors,

São Tomé and Príncipe honored Mahatma Gandhi by issuing stamp of him along with India's Flag in a souvenir sheet with Che Guevara, Simon Bolivar Venezuela, George Washington, Lenin and other great world famous people in 1980 to celebrate 5th Anniversary of their Independence from Portugal.

Recently I saw Sao Tome Principe stamp sheet of flag stamps and famous people stamps which has stamp inside stamps of famous people with flag of their country and I was surprised by the seller's starting price of $50.!!

I am not sure how seller "abilashini123" is pricing this stamp sheet of Gandhi stamp, Washington stamp, Lenin stamp, Che Guevara stamp, Simon Bolivar stamps.!!

Not sure who wants this kind of stamps sheet when whole world is running away from stamp collection because of decline in this hobby.!!

Of course there is lot of glorification about stamps as an Investment, but all this pricing is  nothing but cheating by Shill Bidding or not paying to buyer or Forgery stamps or Facsimile stamps or even BOGUS stamps and cancellation.!!

Want  to know more about Stamps as an Investment then click following links and understand how to protect yourself or to know what's going in stamp collection hobby.!!

Now after reading above blog post what do you think about this $50 stamp sheet.!!?

Now look at the following screenshot and think whether it make sense to buy it at $50.!!

Don't you think it's a way to reaping off new collectors if they don't know the actual price of stamps.!! and it will be too late before they know reality in stamp collection.!!

This MAHATMA GANDHI GEORGE WASHINGTON LENIN CHE GUEVARA SIMON BOLIVAR STAMPS sheet was sol for $7!!

Sao Tome Gandhi stamps - 1980 sheet with stamp in stamp with Gandhi and other leaders - Why you will quit Gandhi Philately Part - 8

Hello Gandhi Collectors,

Recently I bought Sao Tome 1980 Sheet for 6 Euros from delcampe.net which  has 12 countries leaders who helped them to shape their countries including Mahatma Gandhi , George Washington, Lenin and others. This stamp sheet was issued to celebrate 5th Anniversary of Sao Tome Principe Independence from Portugal.

You can read my previous blog post about  Sao Tome Gandhi stamp.

You can see there were more than 5-6 sheets were sold for 6 euros. Click this link  to see selling price of this Sao Tome sheet or you can see in following screen shot.

I bought only one of that as it does not make sense to accumalte stamp like this or it will demand premium in future because there are lot of stamp sheet available. It's not RARE.!!

I think I paid right price for this stamp and if I paid higher price than I will quit Philately hobby because it don't justify to collect this  kind of sheets at high price. I see lot of exhibition where I don't see this kind of stamp sheet in stamp exhibitions.

If you like this post and want to know more about pricing on Gandhi stamps then you will like my other following blog posts.

São Tomé and Príncipe Gandhi Stamp Value - Sao Tome and Principe Ghandi Stamp price - Sao Tome and Principe Gandhi Stamps value

Hello Gandhi Collectors,

São Tomé and Príncipe, officially the Democratic Republic of São Tomé and Príncipe, is a Portuguese-speaking island nation in the Gulf of Guinea, off the western equatorial coast of Central Africa. It consists of two islands: São Tomé and Príncipe, located about 140 kilometres (87 mi) apart and about 250 and 225 kilometres (155 and 140 mi), respectively, off the northwestern coast of Gabon.

Both islands are part of an extinct volcanic mountain range. São Tomé, the sizable southern island, is situated just north of the equator. It was named in honour of Saint Thomas by Portuguese explorers who arrived at the island on his feast day.

With a population of 163,000 (2010), São Tomé and Príncipe is the second-smallest African country (the Seychelles being the smallest). It is the smallest country in the world in terms of population that is not a former British overseas territory, a former United States trusteeship, or one of the European microstates. It is also the smallest Portuguese-speaking country.

São Tomé and Príncipe honored Mahatma Gandhi by issuing stamp of him along with India's Flag in a souvenir sheet with  Che Guevara, Simon Bolivar Venezuela, George Washington, Lenin and other great world leaders  in 1980 to celebrate 5th Anniversary of their Independence from Portugal.

This stamp was sold recently for $1.81 in auction as well as Fixed price. I think it's a correct value of stamp.

This stamp itself has another Gandhi (Gandhiji) Stamp of 25 paisa from India which is very commonly used and most recognized Gandhi stamp in India. This stamp is first Mahatma Gandhi Stamp from São Tomé and Príncipe but recently they are frequently issuing Gandhi stamps to make money which itself degrade value of their stamps so please know what are you buying.

Generally small countries will contract their stamp out in order to get free printed stamps for their use and contracter makes money by selling this stamps to us.!!! Check following links to see who is contracting for Sao Tome.

Sao Tome Principe stamp

Hello Gandhi Stamps Collectors,

I don't understand why 1987 Gandhi stamp from Sao Tome Principe is selling for more than $100 dollars. This country is 183rd in size(372 sq. miles), 188th in population( 163000) and Gross National Income per captial is US 1020$. If you compare with USA which i s 3/4th in size, 3rd in population (308 million) and GNI per capital is US 48000$.

If you think about this 3 facts than you will start thinking who in Sao Tome & Principe will buy this stamps. I think this is another example of making money on Gandhi stamps in which fetching lot of money.

This stamp was printed in 1987 with Olympic games, International Organisations, Red cross, Famous people Ghandi, Martin Luther King, Albert John Lutuli. It's Michel number 979-982, 169. Following is the complete set.

Some times you can find this stamp cheap from people who are collecting only Nobel Price winner or Red Cross and Gandhi is not Noble Price winner (This is a great embrassement for all the Nobel prize winners !!) and collectors of that nobel prize stamps don't need this Gandhi stamp. If you are lucky you will get cheap otherwise collector has to pay high price.

The price in an old Michel catalogue is cheap and they never warned in Michel Rundschau about high prices of this Gandhi stamp.

If anyone has more info about this stamp than please comment on it.

Following are links from delcampe auction site and you will be amazed what price it is selling for and who are the bidders. Look carefully to bidders name.

1) Delcampe item # 85864077
2) Delcampe item #64552460
3) Delcampe item #91402531
4) Delcampe item #64552460
