Deutsche Briefmarke Gandhi - Briefmarkensammlung

Hello Gandhi stamp collectors,

As you know I write about reality in stamp collection (Briefmarken sammlung) instead of glorification, following is one more reality.!!

Germany 1969 stamp sheet of 50 stamps of Mahatma Gandhi was sold under $5.!! Even after 42+ years philatelic collection is still available and it's not appreciating at all as you can see it's available at very nominal price.!!

You might see this kind of Gandhi stamp sheet selling from $30-$100 or more, but it's nothing but INFLATED price.!!

This is not first time I am seeing this kind of pricing for complete sheet of Gandhi but this is the real price.

If you see very high price of complete Gandhi stamp sheet then there are more chance of Shill bidding, Inflated price (higher start price) or FAKE bidding.

So beware what are you collecting. As per me stamp sheet collection is worthless as it require special album to store and also if you want to sell then extra postage is required. Not only that when you display in exhibit it will occupy whole page or might not even fit in exhibit requirement.

So BEWARE what you are collecting and why are you collecting.!!

Read my following blog post to understand about stamp collection in DECLINE.!!

1) A Hobby in Decline : 1948 Gandhi USED cover case study.!!
2) A Hobby in Decline.!! - Part-2
3) How to invest when philately price is dropping.

If you see stamps are not even selling or selling like 5-10 times lower their value than mentioned in catalog.!!

There is nothing RARE or Scare in philately because this hobby is in downward trend because experienced collectors are loosing interest because value is not appreciating and new collectors are not coming in to this because there are lot of other things to do for them such as playing video games on Nintendo or X-box , social networking on facebook or google+ or  surfing on web through internet or SMS through iphone or android or watch games such as cricket, football or basketball.!!

Only way philately can sustain is to stop cheating in this hobby. Yes CHEATING.!! which is what you will see in order to increase value artificially by inflating the price by SHILL bidding, not paying to seller or mutual understanding cancelling transaction and lot more.

To know more about this kind of activity read my following blog post and think what are the possibilities in cheating, glorification, SHILL bidding, FAKE, Forgery etc.

2) 1948 Gandhi Stamps: Are False hope of Riches - Part II ?

8) Indian Philately Exposed - Part II
9) Gandhi SERVICE overprint stamp price fell from $1009 to $1.!!
10) How can you tell that Gandhi SERVICE stamp is FAKE or Forgery ?

I hope all the above will help while making decision in investing stamps and to avoid getting CHEATED.!!

Now don't you think it does NOT make sense STAMP INVESTING!!

Thanks

Gandhi Centenary Great Britain stamp

Hello Gandhi Stamp Collectors,

In 1969 Great Britain honored Mahatma Gandhi by issuing his stamp to celebrate 100th Anniversary of his birth (1869 - 1969) along with other 20+ countries.

He was the first Asian person on Great Britain stamp.

Recently I saw Great Britain 1969 Mahatma Gandhi complete stamp sheet of 120 stamps selling under $16!!

Which means that single stamp is worth around 13 cents after 43+ years.!!

Also Gandhi Centenary F.D.C are also selling under $1 and it sells sometimes only if you are lucky.!! Even 20 different F.D.C from Great Britain from 1969-1981 including Mahatma Gandhi F.D.C was sold only for $3. (Yes, $3 for 20 F.D.C. !!)

So as a stamp collection hobby where are we heading.?  Is in tremendous decline mode or worst?

Looking to above pricing to me it looks like WORST specially in Gandhi stamps because

1) SHILL Bidding is more than ever or nothing sells without it.!!
2) 90% of expensive philatelic material is INFLATED by not paying it so seller.(might be there friends or same person). What ever you see on auction sites is not real or genuine transaction.!!
3) FAKE and FORGERY are available in plenty than Genuine stamps and philately material.!!
4) There are other hobby where new collectors enjoy more than collecting stamps.!!

Still cannot decide then read following blog post which might help you.

In past I had seen Ireland, Morocco, Malta  complete stamp sheet of Mahatma Gandhi selling at very low price.

Still want to do research  then please read my other blog post and have fun.!!

Morocco Gandhi Stamps

Hello Gandhi Collectors,

I am not sure what interest it makes to collect stamp sheet. Reason for this is it will required special care for sheet you collect and  it will not fit in any standard philatelic album and it also cost higher than regular stamps.

Look at following example of Morocco Gandhi stamp sheet. It was sold for 60 euros. But now collector or reseller needs to keep it in specially space. Also it cost more for shipping and also it's pain to store and to display also.!!

And that's the reason after 40+ years it is selling around 60 euros for this stamp sheet of 50 stamps.!!

Think about all this stuff before you buy Gandhi Stamp sheet.

Seller : estafette50
Buyer : www_stampsfromindia_com

Seller : estafette50
Buyer : traditional.india

Sold for 32 Euros in auction.!!

In future you might see this  stamp sheet selling on ebay or delcampe in block of 4!!

This is for reference for future new Gandhi Stamp Collectors, so they know what was pricing of this stamps in 2011 even after 40+ years!!

This 2 sheet came for sale for $500!!! But both of them were  unsold. (Looks like one of the buyer is trying to sell this.!!)
