Queen Victoria India 1860 telegraph stamp - QV stamps

In May, I saw 4 annas Queen Victoria India 1860 telegraph stamp  (QV stamp) sold for $1185.!! by "mareval2" from UK and bought by "puneetgo" of USA.

This kind of stamps is good for eBay shareholder, because this will make their stock value go up, as they will make about $100 on commission.!! (Disclosure: I am long time eBay shareholder and don't intend to sell in 72 hours.!!)

But now let's see some facts about stamp collections. It's all trick.!! and no treat.!!

Following is Queen Victoria stamps (QV stamps) India 1860 telegraph stamp.!! It's about 150+ years old stamps. Do you think this kind of mint stamp with some regular person and they really want to sell it.

Also it will be very hard to preserve this stamps after 2 world wars all kind of unstable situation around the world, great depression and multiple bad weather in world and not proper way to store this kind of stamps.!!

So what do you think about this MINT stamps of Queen Victoria India 1860 telegraph stamp ?

Do you think it's GENUINE.!!?

But we all know how easy is to print stamps which are very rare (almost none available) and sell it as replica or facsimile stamps. Following is replica stamp and you will not believe this if I did not mentioned this.!!

But I also notice that this replica and facsimile stamp are also sold as genuine.!!!  In past I saw Gandhi SERVICE stamp was for sale $225,000 with forged or reused expertising certificate.

So how can you make sure you are not buying Replica stamps by paying genuine price.!!

1) Don't buy in private transaction
2) Don't buy under catalog value. (but catalog value is overpriced).
3) JUST DON'T COLLECT expensive stamps.!! (best option to avoid it.!)

Following is bidding details were 8 bidders bidded on this 4 annas Queen Victoria QV India 1860 telegraph stamp.

But I also saw another Queen Victoria QV India 1860 telegraph stamp selling for $3600, by seller "stamp_bay" from USA.(Disclosure: In past I bought one Gandhi envelope with him/her.!!)

Do you really think this is stamp is worth $3600.!!

Do you really think it's rare stamp.!!? ( In May 2013, only 2 stamps were for auction.!!)

Recently I saw similar type of QV stamp which is replica or facsimile selling for $7.!!  and another was selling for $19000.!!

http://gandhistampsclub.blogspot.com/2013/10/qv-stamps-great-britain-sc-110-stamp.html

So what are chances of Queen Victoria QV India 1860 telegraph stamp also replica or facsimile.?

As I mentioned in my previous blog posts that there are more replica stamps then genuine stamps, because it's very hard to find this stamps as mint or even used after 100+ years.

And if you are new collector and don't know about what's going than you will buy it at very high price.!!

So BEWARE what are you going into.

You will also see all kind of activity to make you that this stamps are really selling on eBay at high price, but in reality it's a SHILL bidding or buyer is not paying to seller, as everyone is involved in this SCAM.!!

Following is my previous blog spot which will explain you about how some of the British India stamps of King Edward stamps, King George stamps etc.

Forgery in stamp collection and philatelic material is nothing new. It has been going around since last 150 years since Penny Black first every stamp issued by Great Britain. But the quantity  and quality of forged stamps we see in today's world is unbelievable.

It's hard which one is REAL and which one is FAKE. And if it is on used cover or register cover with forged postmark cancellation it will be impossible for new or regular collector.!!
In Indian stamps and philately specially in Gandhi collection we have seen lot of forgery stamps and philatelic materials, some of them are following.

3) Forged 1948 Gandhi Mourning first day cover.(different way to mourn.!!)
.
Following is one of the most British India stamp sold as genuine on eBay as Mint or Used.!! Chances of getting this in other type of auction is also very high, because  there are very less people see that auction.

Also showing and giving is some time different.!!

.
.
Reason for King Edward or King George stamps of 25 Rupees is available in replica because it was lot of money in 1902!!

So to be normal collector it's very rare chances, unless you are from Royal family (King of England) or some high level british officer and they don't sell.!!

Looks like Gandhi stamps and philatelic material have all kinds of Forgery.!!! including Indian Philatelic items such as 1911 First Aerial Mail from Allahabad and 1854 Queen Victoria stamps.!!

But recently I saw some British India stamp from early 1900 of King George and  King Edward on eBay sold or available from $2000 to $250!!  I am not even thinking that following are Forged stamps.

But I think a lot so one of my thinking came out of my mind is "What are the chances of this British India stamps are Forged?".

We all know that in China/Taiwan there are plenty of Forged products of famous brand name are available in plenty and people are buying it at 1/10 price such as Coach, Gucci and Burberry women's purses  are available and lot of other things such as Rolex watches.!!

All this forged product which required lot of labor work and wide varieties of different materials and machinery to forged this famous products but so don't you think it's easier to just print on piece of paper and then perforated it to make a forged stamp than making all other Forged products.!!?

So what are the chance of this stamps  (PRINTED PAPER).!!!?? (Again I am not saying following are forged British India stamps.)

Just think what are the chances or possibility of Printed Paper not a stamp.!!

Start thinking about all possible things in order to succeed in philately because technology in printing as well as selling method (SHILL BIDDING) is changed a lot in last 10 years.!!! which is driving the price and quality of Forged stamp which is hard to think that's is forged, which no one can believe it.!!

My personal view about pricing of following British India stamp of King George V and King Edward is INFLATED.  That means it does not deserve this much premium but I think price is jacked up.!!

King George 25 Rupees stamp from India Postage, sold for $291

India 25 Rupees King George V stamp with overprint SERVICE, sold for $222.

King George V 25 Rupees stamps from British India, sold for $250

King Edward postage stamp from British India, sold for $246
King Edward 15 and 25 Rupees Stamp from British India from "Taiwan" for $1990 (still available)

Following are Forgery King Edward and King George stamps KGV stamps from Central Africa and Nigeria. Compare above stamps with this and think what are the chances.

Also you can read my previous blog post about King Edward and Kin George stamps.

Now you might be wondering what above stamps and following ERROR stamp from India has to do with Gandhi stamps and King George V, King Edward and Queen Victoria philatelic collection.!!

But looking to the price it's sell it make forger to print this and sell it instead of making forged famous product and get caught by that multinational companies.

Where as making forged stamp no one has time to go after them.!! so it's a safe bet.

Following is the error stamp. In  1992 India Year Pack of commemorative stamps, the lowest value of the Birds of Prey set was discovered to be a 1 r. value, instead of 2 r. as generally issued. The 1 r. value also included the species description for the 6 r. value from the same set.

Left side stamp is GENUINE where as right side is FORGED copy of error stamp.

We see lot of FORGED 1948 India Gandhi mint stamps which makes me compare to Forged Indian Bird Prey stamp with error. Following are some FORGED 1948 India Gandhi stamps which are sold as copy, replica, proof and facsimile (even genuine, rare etc).

All of the above 1948 GANDHI stamps from India is FORGED (FAKE).

You will not able to believe it that following is the Forged stamp probably printed with help of high scanner or in China which is more easier than making forged Coach, Gucci purses or Rolex watches.!!

Seller "posthedge" from USA also mentioned it's FORGED.

Seller description of above stamp

" This type of forgery is nothing unusual - the 10Rs Gandhi stamp (the whole set actually) has been extensively forged. The forged SERVICE overprint is abundantly available. Even worse, there are many older genuine RPSL and BPA certificates (for the 10Rs Service stamp) that are floating and have been used to pass of forgeries. The red cross missing stamp and the bird of prey that recently appeared in auction houses were also determined to be fake when they were sent for certification after auction "

"One of the genuine stamps also has two certificates issued on it - which means a genuine certicate may be available to pass off a forgery. So it is not merely enough to buy a stamp with the certificate , but as always to ensure that the stamp belongs to the certificate and that the certificate itself is legitimate by writing to/emailing the BPA directly (as certificates have also been forged)."

Enlarge above screenshot to read about BPA and RPLS. !! It's amazing that expertising certificate are used to pass of forgeries.!!

But recently I saw similar stamp sold for $811 from Taiwan seller "vivistamp2009" even without mentioning that this is FORGED or GENUINE.  Only thing is that SEE THE SCAN.!!

Do you think this is a GENUINE stamp with error.? I don't think so as there are very less quantity available and it will not sell for $800 it might sold for higher price around $2000-$5000 (just my guess).!!

So what next time any seller can make it happen to $5000 by shill bidding (bidding with other account or philatelic friend might help the seller.!!)

I just gave you the point to think that what are the chances of FORGED stamp in British India Pre-Independence specially in King George Stamps and King Edward stamps.

So if you can find Forged 1948 Gandhi stamps and Forged 1992 Bird prey stamp with error then  what are the chances of other expensive British India stamps of King George V, King Edward and other Indian stamps which I mentioned in start of the blog post.

Please read following series of my blog post  to understand what is going on stamp collecting world specially in Indian Philatelic material with 1948 Gandhi stamps.

Postcards-of-mahatma-gandhi - India stationary post card - Indien Bildganzsachen

Recently set of four 1951 Mahatma Gandhi Indian postcard with cancellation of October 2nd 1957 from Bombay G.P.O was sold for $3.

Chances of forgery is very high because it's easy to make rubber stamp and apply it on mint post cards.!!

Also this is very common practice in Gandhi stamps and Gandhi philatelic material so it's not surprise.

We all know how rubber stamps are forged and applied on postcards, as well as on envelope. You can make postcard with any date.!!

But sometimes this 4 postcards (Bildganzsachen) will be for sale for $254.!! and too without cancellation (rubber stamp)

This ( postcards-of-mahatma-gandhi - India stationary post card  - Indien  Bildganzsachen) sold by "elagen1" and bought by "speedbird1*" ( don't know why very desperate bidding at end, but this kind of activity is usual!!)

Do you think chances of shill bidding ?

Click following link to my blog post to learn about SHILL Bidding and apply to this blog.!!

But  this 1951 India postcards from eBay seller "sammlermarkenglueck" from Germany are on sale for $254 without cancellation.!!

Translate in English :-
"India from 1939 to 1944 with four unused postal stationery 9 P. green "Elephanta, Trimurt stone bust of the god Shiva" each with a representation of Mahatma Gandhi, two of the photos are ever printed on the back of stationary cards, the other two on the side of the value of temple see also scan. The map of 1944 "Mahatma Gandhi with the child in her arms" is a bit browned, but overall the whole things are not properly received, and completely unmarked! A very rare and popular group for which Mahatma Gandhi collectors a great opportunity to acquire this postal stationery!"

Now if you buy it at $254 you will regret whole your life.!!

Want to know more about India Post cards then please read following blog posts and understand what is going on in Gandhi stamps and philatelic collection and then apply it to your own thematic collection and it will be same thing.!!

QV stamps Great Britain SC# 110 stamp 1884 brown lilac Queen Victoria stamps : What is the REAL stamp value.?

Will you pay $7 or $19000 for same stamp ?

Recently I saw 1884 Great Britain Brown Lilac stamp for $7. But I saw same Great Britain SC# 110 stamp 1884 brown lilac for $19000.!!

It's amazing to see such a price difference.

Of course one is selling as replica and other don't mention that it's replica.!!

So what are chances when you buy such a expensive stamp and you get replica.!! Because it don't look that much different if you don't know too much about what's going in stamp collection.

There are more replica than genuine.

Or you can say there are only replica available.

If you compare following 2 stamps you will be confused which is genuine and which one is FAKE. If you are new collector you will think both are genuine and if avid collector than you think both are FAKE.!!

In June 2010 Gandhi 10 Rupees SERVICE overprint stamp was  selling for $225,000 from San Francisco, California by "tappalman" (as of 6/26/12 eBay id don't exist.!!!), with FORGERY of expertising certificate.

http://gandhistampsclub.blogspot.com/2011/01/expensive-gandhi-stamp.html

Looking to all Facsmile/Copy available in 2012 for this kind of 1948 SERVICE stamp how we can trust this is indeed Genuine stamp. To read more about FAKE Gandhi Stamps read following blog post for more awareness.

1) 1948 Gandhi Facsimile stamp
2) Maryland Forgery
3) How can you tell Gandhi SERVICE stamp is FAKE or Genuine.?
4) FAKE 10 Rs. SERVICE stamp price $1009 to $1 in just 4 months?

Following is FAKE/Forgery/Facismile/Copy of this stamp available. How we can trust above is indeed Genuine stamps.

But it will be hard to notice that if replica is a used stamps by applying forged rubber stamp.

It's very confusing when you collect Mint stamps because of all kinds of forgery available. It's not only in mint stamps, but forgery stamps are converted to USED stamps so there are less chances to get caught or notice.

Also you see it on piece of paper or envelope with very good cancellation as if it did not travelled through postal stream.!!

Yes we are seen lot of forged rubber stamp on Gandhi stamps as well as British India stamp of King George  stamps, King Edward stamps and Queen Victoria stamps and  First Aerial Mail from Allahabad.

Following are some forgery blog post I wrote in past.

1911 First Aerial Mail post forgery card (one of the greatest philatelic blunder in forgery) with receiving and sending postmark.

BOGUS forgery cancellation card of 1911 First Aerial Mail from Allahabad.
Fake 10 Rupees SERVICE stamps is available in large quantity.!! Just affix on piece of paper any apply rubber stamp and no one will question stamps, whether is genuine or forged.!!
Gandhi SERVICE FAKE Stamps and Governor Cancellation
What is Tibet 1949 register cover with 1948 Gandhi stamps without stamps from Tibet and Indian Embassy of Nepal?
FAKE 1948 Indian Embassy of Nepal cancellation and Independence day of India

Forged 1948 Gandhi FDC with Indian Embassy of Nepal cancellation!!
Forged 1948 Gandhi Nepal Indian Embassy Cancellation
FORGED India 1948 Gandhi stamps FDC!!
FAKE 1948 Gandhi  stamps "JAI HIND" Cancellation
OVERPRINT stamp issue from Cameroun, Nicragua & Togo. Does not make sense at all someone printing on stamp by mistake. This is delibrate act.

FAKE Overprint Cameroun, Nicaragua stamps and FDC!!

Why 2009 FAKE or BOGUS (not approved by Germany post) Germany Special Cancellation on October 2nd.? (This makes all 1969 special cancellation questionable!!, because who knows what have happen in 1969.!!). Also don't know up to what stage collector goes to take benefit. !!

If this replica stamps is forged with rubber stamp you can make lot of money and don't even get caught, because it will be very hard to find out it's forged rubber stamps and replica stamps.

Following are FORGED RUBBER STAMP from British India.!!

What are chances of getting this on your stamps.!!?

I think it's very high.!!

Now beware about all this before you jump into QV stamps Great Britain SC# 110 stamp 1884 brown lilac Queen Victoria stamps

Even this stamps were sold for $790 - $470.!!

BIDDERS!! "hitlerandgandhi" just to glorify Gandhi stamps they increase price of 1948 Gandhi FDC and Used covers.!!! (Images are not enough to understand this so read following blog posts.!!)

I am not expert and I am in this hobby for 4 years only so you don't have to believe me or trust me. But you can think about it. There are more experts with 20-30-40-50 years sitting around with stamp hobby and there are expertizing certificate which might help you.

But expertizing certificates are also Forged !!!

If you don't want to go through all this don't think as Investment and think as "Philately Greed" and you will be SAFE.

I think collector, dealers, seller, forger will do anything for money such as making BOGUS cancellation from Winnenden to celebrate non-violence for school shooting or plane crash cover, forged 1948 stamps,  Nepal Indian Embassy cancellation, Gandhi SERVICE stamp with forged Sunday cancellation, letter reaching after 2 years or reaching in 3 days from India to France by removing stamps and black ink of rubber stamp etc.

It's nothing new. In stamp collection it has been going on 160+ years since Penny Black. But counterfeit or forgery is going on since 700 B.C. ( 2500+ years).

Don't you think it's a "PHILATELIC GREED"!!

Thanks

IMPERF STAMPS OR PHOTO COPY stamps?

Recently I was going through my collection and I found out some imperf stamps I bought it 3-4 years ago.

You can read my previous blog post about imperf stamps before you read this blog post so you get some idea.

http://gandhistampsclub.blogspot.com/2013/08/imperf-stamp-antigua-gandhi-train-stamp.html

http://gandhistampsclub.blogspot.com/2013/06/imperf-stamps.html

http://gandhistampsclub.blogspot.com/2012/10/imperf-stamps.html

After through examination, I am curious that this are IMPERF stamps or just plain PHOTO COPY ?

Following are some of the imperf stamps available on eBay from very small countries.

Don't you think it's very easy to PHOTO COPY stamps and no one will notice this.!!

I did some experiment on some of the hitech photo copy machine with good quality of paper and I am amazed what it can do.!!

Try it out with high resolution image and just print it and you will be surprised too.!!

This is more easier than printing some perforated stamps and selling it, because it don't required precision to cut the perforation.

Following are some of the replica stamps available which can be sold as GENUINE stamps also.!! So BEWARE.!!

So BEWARE before you buy other wise you will have PIECE OF PAPER instead of IMPERF stamps.!!

Thanks
