Making money on eBay - British India King Edward 1902 stamp

Everyone loves money.!!

But to earn money by selling stamp on ebay is very easy.

Just buy some forgery stamps (replica) and sell it as genuine by applying rubber stamp (easy to make)  and sell it by SHILL bidding (to increase price).

Following is British India King Edward 1902 stamp valued 25 Rupees. 

It was lot of money 115 years so it will be very hard to find mint in condition unless you are from King of England family.

Also it will be very hard to find this used stamp because no one in India was using this much amount of stamp. Also in 1902 there were very few people to need this stamp for use.!!

Following is  British India King Edward 1902 stamp and it will be very hard to tell it's GENUINE or FORGERY.!!

It's forgery.!!

And it's available for $5 and it's very hard to tell that it's forgery.!!

To me it looks like genuine when I compare with other 1902 India KE VII stamp sold for $2000 or $1750.!!

This forgery stamp is well centered position.!!

Seller can sell this as genuine but he choose to sell it forgery so no buyer.!!

Also he did not did any SHILL bidding to make it look it's authentic.!!

Above stamp is available on eBay for $5 and no one wants to even buy it.!!

Even used stamp is available for $5.!!!

So don't you think you can make money by selling this forgery stamps as GENUINE and make lot of money.!!!

Can you imagine how much money this seller has to pay to

•  eBay as commission
• Capital Gain Tax to country of selling.
• Income Tax, State Tax, Sales Tax to that country.
• Paypal as commission.

But still seller make lot of money.!!!

You also have to pay above taxes and commission even if you sell forgery stamp as genuine so be prepared to pay.!!

I know it paying taxes it hurts but you cannot escape paying taxes if you are in USA or European countries or Australia or Japan or Korea.!!

Compare below stamps with above FORGERY or REPLICA and see margin on sides.!!

To me all of the following look FORGERY and above stamp looks GENUINE when I compare margin on all sides.!!

Recently it's not selling for high price like $2000 or $1750 or $800 but you can still make $387 or $330.!!

eBay seller "walt.papc from US - $250(best offer ?)

Even some tried to sell at high price but not were able to sell it.!!

eBay seller "statusinternational" for $1200

eBay seller "nainad" for $849(multiple 1902 KE stamps)

eBay seller "cassouza" for $495.

So  don't you think you can money also.!!

I think it's easy.

• Just buy replica (forgery) stamp
• Create rubber stamp of any big city like Calcutta or Bombay or Pondicherry and apply on replica stamp.

Stamp Catalogue of China - "Chan Catalogue" - reference book on Chinese Philately - INDIA1854 1/2A DULL RED DIE SG14

Recently I saw  Imperf stamp SG14 of  INDIA 1854 1/2A Anna  in  bloc of 6 selling for $3500 from ebay seller "jmcoins2009" from Switzerland.

I am not sure whether this kind of stamps are Genuine or FORGERY because it will be hard for someone to save this kind of stamp in MINT condition.

It will be lot of money in 1854.!!!

Unless you stole it from  KING of Britain it will be very hard to come up on eBay.!!

But what I notice seller is using Stamp Catalogue of China  - "Chan Catalogue" -  reference book on Chinese Philately  for pricing.!!

Not sure why not use some standard catalog value.!!

But in last 7 years I had seen more than 1000+ stamps coming on eBay which makes me think it's all FORGERY.

In past I had seen block of 16 was for sale by "stamp_bay" from California.



In past this kind of block of 6 was sold by vivek_nigam from Sunnyvale, California for $1400 with 23 bids on it. (Lot of money for California government from Capital Gain TAX as well as Sales Tax.)

Looks like California is hotbed for British India stamp collection.!!

India 1854 stamp - Queen Victoria stamps - QV stamp - World's number one Forgery stamps

India 1854 stamp was sold for $8300 by eBay seller "matthijs_philatelie"  from Belgium.

Do you really think this is very valuable stamp and it is sold for $8300 ?

If you think it's lot of money to be invested in stamp when no one collect stamps anymore.!!

But it's generating money everyone.

• eBay get commission from this transaction (about 10% = $800)
• VAT for EU (about 20 % = $1600)
• PayPal (about 2-3% = $150)
• Belgium government will get Capital Gain TAX on profit (about $1500 - 2000)
• Seller "matthijs_philatelie" will get rest of it (about $5000)

Now do  you think all of them are making (getting) money ?

• What if SHILL bidding happens on this transaction and buyer did not paid to seller ? (In this transaction it looks like it, because bidders are very questionable, but it's very hard to tell.!)
• Seller cancel transaction if buyer did not paid or mutual understanding ?

I had seen lot of SHILL bidding in stamp collection to increase price to look like stamps are

• for Investment
• still there is lot of interest in stamp collection
• to increase price so they can get more money

But to me all this pricing is nothing but FALSE HOPES OF RICHES.!!!

Nobody is making money as I think everything is BOGUS.!!

Also not sure whether stamp is GENUINE because there are more forgery of 1854 stamps than any stamps in the world.!!! (Most FORGERY stamp in world.).

If you don't want to go through all this don't think as Investment and think as "Philately Greed" and you will be SAFE.

I think collector, dealers, seller, forger will do anything for money such as making BOGUS cancellation from Winnenden to celebrate non-violence for school shooting or plane crash cover, forged 1948 stamps,  Nepal Indian Embassy cancellation, Gandhi SERVICE stamp with forged Sunday cancellation, letter reaching after 2 years or reaching in 3 days from India to France by removing stamps and black ink of rubber stamp etc.

It's nothing new. In stamp collection it has been going on 160+ years since Penny Black. But counterfeit or forgery is going on since 700 B.C. ( 2500+ years).

eBay Counterfeit Items - stamps are also Bogus (never exist).

Recently I read eBay have 400,000 counterfeit items, and I agree with that.

But not only counterfeit item but there are also BOGUS items.

BOGUS items means it never existed but someone (group of collectors) make it genuine as if it were real.!!

American Greed unveils incredible true cases of crime stories of people who will do anything for money.

Yesterday on TV I saw "American Greed" episode  on business news channel CNBC and I was surprised how money was COUNTERFEIT and sold in market or used in market.

So this makes me start thinking that if money ( USA dollars bill, which is widely used currency in world) can be printed using multiple ink, color change ink, watermarks  and all kind of security than any one can print following simple old postage stamps with one, two or 3 colors which also don't require latest printing technology because this are all old stamps.!!

Following are some of the famous forged stamps which I came across in last 4 years.!!

Also printing stamps and using it or selling it there are less chances of getting caught because of small size and very small number of collectors and it's not widely used like counterfeit money.

Also there are very less chances where small countries government has resources to work on this kind of counterfeit!!

After watching it on CNBC I searched more about counterfeit money and read lot of article about it. Following is one of them from Forbes "Glorifying A Master Counterfeiter"!!

I am amazed that there is even book for this by Jason Kersten "The Art of Making Money" about counterfeit money and also there is a plan for movie.!!

Now after seeing this on CNBC and reading more about whole SCAM, I was thinking about Philately Forgeries, FAKE and BOGUS philatelic material sold to new collectors as a INVESTMENT.!!!

Also selling method applied has lot of similarities.!! Here master forger gives counterfeit money to small gang at 30% of original price and that gang will try to make it 100%.!!

But in philatelic small gang makes more than 100% because it's not written any where that this stamp is valued particular amount like 100 dollar bill!!

And that's the reason we see stamps and philatelic  price ranging from $7000 - $2000. Some times it cross $15000 -$225,000.!!

To get more than 100% it's not only ART of making stamps but it's also ART of Glorification to make new collector believe in stamps investment or collection by increasing price through various methods such as Shill bidding, writing about in blog or website or philatelic magazine or catalog, stamp exhibit and winning award.

Not only that it's ART of making USED covers, ART of making Special Cancellation , ART of making philatelic cover, ART of making different rubber stamps, ART of Bidding etc is also involved with ART of making stamps in order to make more than 100%.!!
