India Poets Saints stamp : Don't know why there is a huge price difference in a 20 days.!!

Hello Gandhi Collectors,

In 1952, India honored world famous Poets and Saints by issuing their stamps. This individual are Kabir, Tulisdas, Mirabai, Surdas, Ghalib and Rabindranath Tagore.

But it's interesting to notice what a difference in auction pricing of India 1952 Saints and Poets stamps.

On October 26th, First Day Cover with 6 stamps of India Poets and Saints was sold for $12. But on November 18th similar F.D.C with 6 stamps of Indian Poets and Saints was sold for $49.!!

Don't know why ?

But only difference is seller feedback and country.!!

Seller bridgerkay from U.K. with 2600+ feedback sold for $49 where as seller "rlingen" from Canada with 34000+ feedback sold for $12.!!

So now you know why?.

So now you will be thinking what is the correct pricing of this stamps.?

I think your guess is mine.!!

Now you will be thinking what to do with Gandhi stamps?

But lot of things are similar with Gandhi stamps so you need to aware of this kind of things and compare it before you buy.

So beware what are you collecting.

So you need to think always before you buy otherwise you will regret.

To me at the end it will be JUST PIECE OF PAPER.!!

If you have money to throw away then start collecting  British India Stamps, India Stamps, 1948 Gandhi Stamps and Philatelic material and you will have a PIECE of PAPER (with no peace of mind.!!).

Still cannot decide then read following blog post which might help you.

Still not decided then my opinion is AVOID it all the cost.!! and have peace of mind instead of worrying you are buying Genuine material.!!!

To me all Gandhi Philatelic material available ( specially before 1950) looks FAKE or Forgery as it is very hard to find Genuine stuff and as new collectors (like me) wants to collect, so some greedy experienced collectors/dealers will provide  all of us as well as experienced collectors.!!

Still want to do research  then please read my other blog post and have fun.!!

Nepal India Embassy postmark stamp

 Hello Gandhi Philatelist,

As you all know that rubber stamp of Indian Embassy Nepal is one of the most forged on various Gandhi philatelic material.

You can read my previous blog post related to Nepal Gandhi Embassy stamp.

1) Gandhi stamp and Independence day of India.
2) Mahatma Gandhi stamps : Is it Genuine, FAKE or STOLEN.?
3) AVOID collecting in Repression : Gandhi First Day Cover with Nepal India Embassy stamp.
4) Nepal Indian Embassy 1948 Gandhi F.D.C value.
5) What a difference in value of Nepal Indian Embassy stamp on 1948 Gandhi F.D.C.

But my recent research also indicates that it's not only on Gandhi Philatelic material but it is widely used on various philatelic covers and cards from China and Tibet to create some VARIETIES in philatelic collection.!!

This varieties looks authentic because of lot of uncertainitiy during 1945 - 1958 because all countries surronding Nepal was getting Independence from British rule and China taking over Tibet in 1958.

But to me it looks a great push to think Genuine, Authentic covers which traveled through Nepal with various cancellation of Indian Nepal Embassy or Nepal cancellation in local language etc.

Recently I saw following cover from France which to me looks like QUESTIONABLE (for forgery, fake, illegal)  This is my observation and you don't have to believe me as I am not expert. I am just expressing my view that it looks like.!!

Reason it looks questionable because it took only 7 days to travel from Saint-Die-des-VOSGES (which is 400 km from Paris). Saint-Die-des-Vosges has population of 23,000 in 2006. Now think how big it was 55years ago.!!

Now think travel time to various postal department, International Airport(Saint die airport was not), flight schedule in France or through India major cities and Nepal (if post were going through Indian postal agency).

Also this is register cover it needs extra care for signature/rubber stamp of various postal department in order that it don't get lost.

Do you think all this is possible in just 7 days with all manual labor of postal stream as no electronic customization did not exist 55 years ago.

You all know that in current days also it takes longer to get mail from France to India or France to USA.!! So in 1957 it reaches Nepal in 7 days.!!

Also this cover is not address to Indian Embassy to Nepal.

Mailed on :- 2-Sep-1957 (Monday)
Received :- 8-Sep-1957 (Sunday)

But another thing I notice is that Post Office Indian Embassy stamp date 8-Sep-1957  is SUNDAY.

Post Office in India are not open on Sunday or were never opened on Sunday except on 15-August-1948 to celebrate first anniversary of India Independence and also to celebrate first day of Mahatma Gandhi stamp.

Also it's Embassy which don't open on Sunday and even if it is open then they don't do postal work.!!

Also not sure whether this was official stamp from Indian Government (Genuine or stolen) or just BOGUS rubber stamp?

So what is this SUNDAY cancellation from Nepal Indian Embassy.?

Don't you think it's FORGED by just applying rubber stamp on the cover without thinking about day of the week?

There are lot of other questions you can think and I let you think before you pursue your hobby of adding varieties or just adding in your thematic collection.

Following are other cover with Nepal Indian Embassy. Do your own research !!

So beware what are you collecting.

So you need to think always before you buy otherwise you will regret.

To me at the end it will be JUST PIECE OF PAPER.!!

India Mahatma Gandhi postage stamp : 1948 insufficient postage used on private first day cover !!! Is it ERROR or Forgery?

Hello Gandhi Collectors,

As you all know that Forgeries or FAKE are available more than Genuine or Authentic philatelic material with 1948 India Gandhi Stamp.

But I am not sure why seller don't mention this ? My guess is either they don't know that it's forged or they just don't want to provide all information.

Following is screenshot from eBay were seller "mareval2" is selling First Day Cover with 1948 Gandhi Stamp India send to USA.

According to me it has insufficient postage stamp from India. In 1948 seamail postage to USA was 3 1/2 Annas whereas on this cover there postage stamp from India of 1 1/2 Annas so it's missing 2 Annas.!!

Also there is no postage due stamp from USA postal department so what it is.!!

Due you  think USA postal department missed putting this stamp and it's a valid cover.?

or

Due you think it was not travelled to USA and address might been typed afterwards.!! as 1948 Gandhi stamp were glorified because of Internet, economy boom in India and lot of Indian people are working overseas (Non Resident India) so they can INVEST in stamps!!

I was also bidding for this insufficient postage 1948 Gandhi private first day cover for research only!! so I know following details and it was surprising to me that buyer of this cover is biggest seller of REPLICA (Copy, Facsimile) from Slovekia!!  including Gandhi, British India stamps such as King George, King Edward etc.

So not sure what's going on.!! It's confusing.!!

280995570858Oct-12-12Oct-22-12 06:08:18GBP 23.00India 1948 Gandhi 1.5a on first day cover to USAma-collectorshop (*)mareval2

so what do you think about following PRIVATE FDC without "Jai Hind" special cancellation or without Official Cachet from India post.!!

Now moving to private FDC with local post office cancellation on Gandhi India stamp.!! Does it make sense to make this kind of cover?

Look at pricing of following private 1948 Gandhi First Day Cover from India. It's selling from $225 - $675.!!

I think this is very very high even if they are genuine.!!  It should not be more than $10-$25 but that's the way in Gandhi stamp collection specially in 1948 Gandhi stamps from India.

But if eBay buyer "hitlerandgandhi" is active then this will sells for $2000-$5000!!

To me it does not make sense private Gandhi First Day Cover in 2012 also because it does not have interesting things to collect and it does not even make unique or GENUINE because this can be done any time.

We all had seen forged special "Jai Hind" cancellation so it's not a big deal about official cancellation also but it still make unique than private cancellation from regular post office on first day cover.

Also you can have special cancellation afterwards by forgery or some one has stolen special cancellation  or we might know whether that particular special cancellation is indeed genuine such as from Simla or Pondicherry or other smaller town.!!

So keep your eyes open when you jump in to any private First day cover with Gandhi India stamp!! otherwise you will have some forgery material which no one will buy it or even win you in a exhibit.!!

You can only win a exhibit if you are a very brand name(involved in various countries philately committe, judges in international exhibitor etc)  in philately then they judges don't check whether it's genuine or forgery because judges themselves depends on that brand name philately exhibitor.!!

So my advice is to stay away from all lucrative offers about INVESTMENT in 1948 Gandhi stamp from India or any British India stamp collection.

So beware what are you collecting.

So you need to think always before you buy otherwise you will regret.

To me at the end it will be JUST PIECE OF PAPER.!!

If you have money to throw away then start collecting  British India Stamps, 1948 Gandhi Stamps and Philatelic material and you will have a PIECE of PAPER (with no peace of mind.!!).

Malta stamps Gandhi : Is SKY falling or SKY is the limit in Gandhi stamps and philatelic material.!!

Hello Gandhi Philatelist,

Looks like sky is falling on Gandhi philately.!!

Recently I saw register Malta 1969 Gandhi stamp used First Day Cover send to Belgium with other 2 extra postage was sold only for $4.!!

Can't believe that after 40+ years Gandhi First Day Cover is selling for so cheap.!!

Don't know why it's so cheap even though it's official stamp issued by government, but my guess is lot of cheating in buying philatelic material by shill bidding, overflowing of Gandhi personalised stamps and philatelic material and decline in stamp collection hobby is major factor.

Looks like Gandhi Stamps and Philatelic material are not for INVESTMENT.!!! It's just hobby which is declining like other hobby such as coin collection, baseball cards, match box label etc.

But if you see following screenshot from seller "Phil4u", "Bobby92" and "7656" then you will think SKY is the limit in Gandhi Philately.!! because Malta First Day Cover is selling for $45 -$15!!

Just F.D.C which are widely available and not even postally used register cover with extra stamps like we saw on above screenshot.

I know it's seller choice to sell what ever price they want to sell.

But it's up to buyer how much they want to pay.

Now look at following screenshot where seller is selling for $2!!

If you have money to throw away then start collecting  British India Stamps, 1948 Gandhi Stamps and Philatelic material and you will have a PIECE of PAPER (with no peace of mind.!!).

Still cannot decide then read following blog post which might help you.

King George British India stamp - Comparing with Forged Inverted Gandhi Service Overprint stamp

Hello Gandhi stamp collectors,

As you all know that 1948 Gandhi Service overprint stamp from India is Forged more than any other stamp. Also BPA and RPSL expert certification are re-used to sell forged stamps of Gandhi Service stamp from India issued to celebrate India First Anniversary of Independence.

Recently I saw Error in Gandhi Service Overprint stamp.!!  SERVICE was printed in reverse.

Seller already mentioned about this forgery of  India First Anniversary of Independence Service Inverted stamp so we don't need to do research or investigate.

Also looks like there are no buyer of this INVERTED stamp as it was sold under $2.!!

But now I am comparing above stamp with British India King George stamp and to me it looks lot of similarity, except price.!!

This stamp was for sale for $199.!! and no buyer also.!!

Not sure whether following British India stamp of King George is Genuine or FORGERY like Gandhi service stamp of India, but to me it looks like chances are very high.

I am not expert on this so I cannot say that this is forgery but it's up to buyer to decide as they have to pay for this stamp and if they don't investigate thoroughly then they will have piece of paper.!!

So what are chances of this British India King George SERVICE OVPT stamp is also FORGED.?

Don't you think this can be also forged because  it's very easy to overprint and who knows whether this was correct printing or even printed on this kind of stamps.!!

It's easy to make 100 times more money than just selling mint stamps so it's tempting to do so.!!

Please read my following post related to King George stamp, King Edward stamp, British India Specimen stamp and Nigeria King George stamps to understand what's going on with all forgery, facsimile, specimen, pricing etc.

3) Forgery in 1854 Queen Victoria stamp
4) King George Specimen stamp

So beware what are you collecting.

So you need to think always before you buy otherwise you will regret.

To me at the end it will be JUST PIECE OF PAPER.!!

Mauritius Gandhi stamp : How are Mauritus Gandhi 1969 FDC sold.!!

Hello Gandhi Collectors,

Mauritius Gandhi stamp purchase is one of the most difficult because lot of SHILL bidding happens in it. Also there are lot of forgery register cover and used cover with Gandhi stamps.

Not only used cover or register cover are forged but also stamp on piece of paper and combination of 1969 and 2001 stamps of Gandhi on cover.

Please read my other blog post related Mauritius Gandhi stamp so you understand what's going in Gandhi Philately specially with Gandhi Mauritius stamp.

In last 2 years I noticed that Mauritius 1969 Gandhi FDC with 6 stamps sold for $25.!! I was really surprised when I saw other FDC sold for $41 on same day.

Seller: tiptoppeter from UK
Buyer: Londoneye321 from UK.
Date Sold:- 3/16/2011
Price Paid:- $25

Seller:- asdaasdaasda from China
Buyer(Winner) :- nawab_shukla
Other next Bidder: Coolblue1955
Date Sold:-3/16/2011
Price Paid:- $41

Seller:- jfaulker7
Buyer:- isaramdoo
Date Sold:- 3/22/11
Price Paid:- $34

As per above screen shot of sold FDC price range (25-41$ & 34$) is very wide in a week!! and even same day(25$ & 41$)!!.

My research indiciates that it all depends on who is the seller!!!. Look above screenshot and you will notice that.

Be careful when you buy Mauritius Gandhi philatelic material whether it is FDC or USED cover or just postmark(rubber stamp) register cancellation on paper.

Also Beware on Register covers with Gandhi Sheet of 6 stamps plus ducks stamps on Mauritius covers as in past it was sold for under $2 and now it's bidding starts at $20!!

So beware what are you collecting.

So you need to think always before you buy otherwise you will regret.

Churchill Kennedy Gandhi Bhutan Stamp : Don't know what to do after 40 years of collection?

Hello Gandhi Philatelist,

Recently I saw First Day cover from Bhutan with Plastic Embossed 3D Churchill stamp, Kennedy stamp and Gandhi Stamp sold for only $8.!!

So after looking at pricing collectors don't know what to do (sell or hold) with  their collection? because pricing don't justify their investment.

Also Bhutan F.D.C and stamps are widely available in large quantity so it makes their decision simple.!! Just sell it or it will die it self.!!

This are one of the unique stamp issued by Bhutan and all three are great leaders of their countries as well as they have huge impact on world.

Following are blog post related to Bhutan Gandhi stamps, Churchill Gandhi stamps and Kennedy Gandhi stamps.

http://gandhistampsclub.blogspot.com/2011/08/bhutan-gandhi-stamp-value-why-you-will.html

I also found out that 20-30 years ago they were one of the famous personalities for stamp collector also, but because of dramstically decline in stamp collection hobby demand of  their stamps and first day cover are worth to nothing.

Recently I had seen that F.D.C was without Gandhi stamp was not even sold.!!

So looking to above screenshot it has only one buyer and it only sold for $8.!! So this proves that indeed philately hobby is great verge of decline.!!

Please read my other blog post related to Gandhi and Churchill.

So beware what are you collecting.

Now look at following screenshot and see huge quantity of Bhutan Churchill stamp, Bhutan Gandhi stamp and Bhutan JFK stamps First day cover  is available even after 40+ years.

So you need to think always before you buy otherwise you will regret.

MOST EXPENSIVE STAMP

Hello Gandhi Philatelist,

Only 200 Mahatma Gandhi 10 Rs. stamps were overprinted with "Service" and issued for the use  of  Governor General of India, making it the world's least printed stamp. (It all started here.!!, why only 200 stamps.!!)

Of the hundred stamps that were overprinted with "Service", a few were gifted to dignitaries(looks like they are benefited), while most remain at the National Archives, Postal Museums, etc.

Less than 10 copies of Gandhi 10 Rupees SERVICE stamps reside in private hands and that's why this stamp makes expensive stamp which was sold for $200,000 and if it is genuine stamp with cancellation from  governor post office then sky is the limit.!!!

But you can find Genuine copy of used Gandhi SERVICE stamp as all are FORGED and then shill bidding to make it expensive so others will think this are real stamps and cancellation on piece of paper and even also on envelope. All is BOGUS.!!

Read my previous blog post about Gandhi Service stamp and be SAFE.!!

1) Gandhi SERVICE overprint stamp price fell from $1009 to $1.!!
2) How can you tell that Gandhi SERVICE stamp is FAKE or Forgery ?
3) Maryland forgery of Gandhi SERVICE stamp is $450. Is it shill bidding?
4) Gandhi SERVICE stamp on piece of paper with SUNDAY cancellation !!! ?

But following is not Genuine stamp or cancellation like we all see it on piece of paper.
If this was genuine then it will get more money than Geneva auction house David Feldman sold a 1948 10 Rupee Mahatma Gandhi stamp of India for the incredible price of  €140,000 (US$ 200,000) when buyer's premium is included.

Reason for getting more than $200000 is because it is one of kind USED  with Governor General Cancellation. Never seen this Genuine stamp!!

We all know when it's rare (very very rare) then only it will be expensive and famous. Also it should be from some well know country, otherwise even if it is rare stamp than also it will be not famous and it will be not expensive.

Expensive stamps are actually made rare so it will eventually become expensive.

Think about 10 Rupees Gandhi SERVICE stamp from India and apply logic there why it is expensive. First all it was only printed 100 stamps for use only by Governor General of India. (Government usage only). So how in the world normal collector will have this stamp. According to me if general people cannot buy it at face value than it is not consider a stamp.

Think if KING of England decide in 1850 than only King will use first stamp and it will be only with King. If that was the case than penny black stamp will be billion dollar right now.!! But it's available under $100, because this stamp were printed in large quantity and it was available to general public.

Some of the rare stamps are which were printed in error and it was available to general public during that time. One of the famous example is INVERTED JENNY. Recently this stamp was sold for 2 million dollar for block of four.

You will think your collection also become rare and has expensive stamps, but chances are very less unless you start CHEATING.!!

How to increase your stamp collection value :

Philatelic SCAM:

Make forgery philatelic material :

Art of Making Money:

Create RARE stamps or Philatelic material:

Mint stamp with Gandhi SERVICE was for sale on eBay for $225000.!! Following is screenshot.

You can click following link to read above blog post where chances of expert certification is forged too.

http://gandhistampsclub.blogspot.com/2011/01/expensive-gandhi-stamp.html

But after looking following screenshot I am 100% sure that all that 1948 Gandhi SERVICE stamp on piece of paper with Governor General Camp PO is Forgery.

Recently I saw 10 Rupees Gandhi SERVICE stamp on piece of paper with cancellation of Governor General PO.

Seller is selling as REPLICA or facsimile so all Gandhi SERVICE stamp that we had seen in my previous blog post are indeed Forgery with rubber stamp of Governor General.!!

It was sold for $7.!!

Thanks "ma-collectorshop" from Slovakia for selling it as facsimile instead of telling world as Genuine like other seller on eBay.!! or RE-USE of  BPA or RPLS expertiziation certificate and try to sell it as genuine or increase price by SHILL bidding and make other collector think that it's Genuine.!!

Following are some of the Gandhi SERVICE stamp which in past were on eBay or Declampe for sale.!!

To me it's all look same stamp and cancellation as if "ma-collectorshop".

Stay away from 1948 Gandhi SERVICE stamp from India or any 1948 Gandhi Stamp Philatelic material from India otherwise you will regret big time.

(On side note stay away from 1911 First Aerial Post from Allahabad or any British India stamps and philatelic material.)

It's brutal out there. Everyone is looking for your money.!!

Now I am also 100% sure about all kind of forgery in Indian Philatelic material such as "1911 First Aerial Mail", "Germany 2009 Gandhi special Cancellation from Winnenden", "King George", "King Edward" and every expensive  rare philatelic item.!!

Still cannot decide then read following blog post which might help you.

Still not decided then my opinion is AVOID it all the cost.!! and have peace of mind instead of worrying you are buying Genuine material.!!!

Martin Luther King Stamp with Gandhi and Kennedy Imperf stamps : How can we tell it's GENUINE.!!

Hello Gandhi Collectors,

How can we tell whether Imperforated (having a straight edge without perforations)  stamps are Genuine ?

There is no real measurement or visual inspection which will indicates it's Genuine.!!  because it don't need perforation (a long series of holes or slits so that paper  can be torn more easily).

Recently Gabon Imperf stamp Scott Catalog # C78 - 81 of Martin Luther King Jr, Mahatma Gandhi Imperf stamp, Kennedy Imperf stamp were not even sold for $15.!!

But one seller is selling this imperf stamps for $180!!!

I am not sure why this imperf set was not sold but to me it looks like lot of factors.

1) Forgery are available more then Genuine not only in Imperf stamps but also in perforated stamps so  it's very hard to believe it's real.

2) I don't think anyone collect stamp of Robert Kennedy and John Kennedy because it's  not interesting collectors and I don't see anyone collect this at all. It's in history books only.!!

3) Martin Luther King Jr stamps are also long gone as no one is even issuing new stamps of him as there is no demand in USA were he was widely popular in 1960 -1980 in philatelic world but after that stamps are in decline.

4) Mahatma Gandhi stamps are in plenty of quantity and looks like forgery & shill bidding is killing this hobby. Also overall stamp collection decline is also affecting it.

So beware what you are buying it because it's very easy to make a COPY in printer and sale it. I am not expert but this is only my opinion what are possibilities in philatelic world.

But now look at the following screenshot from eBay and you decide what will be the pricing of this stamps.

Yes it's $180!! What if you don't know correct pricing and buy this kind of philatelic material for collection.!!

Please read my other blog post about Martin Luther King stamps from other African countries.

Queen Victoria stamps : 1854 India stamps forgery mint sheet can be used to make used stamps?

Hello Gandhi Stamp Collectors,

This is very important to compare Gandhi stamps and other British India stamps such as Queen Victoria, King George etc because all of them are selling as rare stamps for high price.

But I don't think any of them deserve high price because they are not rare and it's very hard to find other than fake and forgery.

After looking following screenshot I was really surprised that full sheet of 1854 Queen Victoria stamps of British India is available as forgery.!!

So my brain started thinking that what are the chances of this mint stamps can be converted to USED stamps so there will be less doubt about the forgery.!!

Now look at the following expensive 1854 Queen Victoria stamp from India selling as Mint stamps or  Used stamps for very high price.

What are chances  of this USED stamps are made from above stamp sheet ? I am not sure whether  following are FAKE or forgery because I am not expert. But you know expertising certificate from BPA and RPSL are also re-used or re-copied in past so whom to trust.!!

In past we have seen forgery of King George stamps, King Edward Stamps and Queen Victoria stamps from various countries so this is nothing new in British India stamps.

Don't you think it's easy to do because here you don't even need to make rubber stamp with alphabets, numbers or special symbols?

If forger can make rubber stamp of 1948 Gandhi special cancellation or one of the famous FAKE special cancellation from Germany with Emblem of India all this square or circle with just lines are very easy to forged and applied.

Check following screenshot how easy is it to make a rubber stamp and create forged philatelic material from India as well as from Germany or Nicaragua.

Read my blog post about following FAKE AND FORGED Gandhi stamps and philatelic cancellation.

Also chances of getting caught is less because it's USED by applying rubber stamp, keeping in soil  or exposing to sun and make it toned.!!

Look at sheer quantity of 1854 Queen Victoria stamp is currently available on eBay.!!

Do you consider this as a RARE stamps ?

Don't you think it's very easy to make more money instead of just selling Mint stamps?

If you buy this forgery sheet for $30 and make some used stamps by applying rubber stamp it will be selling for $40000.!!
