MAHATMA GANDHI SOUVENIR STAMP SHEET : A classic example to study in philatelic material for all kinds of FAKE, FORGERY and PRICING STUDY

Hello Gandhi Stamp Collectors,

In 1969 Mauritius issued 6 Mahatma Gandhi Stamps along with Souvenir sheet of 6 stamps. This  Souvenir sheet has all aspects and believe of his life which he worshiped and followed throught his life.

This sheet has 6 stamps with pictures of his different stage of life and it's border has various theme releated to him and his India which include Emblem of India, Snake Charmer, temple/mosque/building, God, Spinning Wheel, Indian Women, His Ashram, Cow, Bullock cart and  ancient India coin/painting.

To me this is the Best Souvenir sheet not only for Gandhi stamp collector but also for various different thematic collectors.

In past 2-3 years I had seen this Mauritius Gandhi Souvenir sheet was sold between $1-$2. Yes under two dollar.

Now recently I saw this souvenir sheet is for sale for $10.!! Yes dollar ten.!!

Even in past this seller "theobargain" sold Mauritius used register cover with this 1969 Gandhi miniature sheet and 2001 Gandhi stamps along with Dodo stamps under $1.50.!! (click following to read my blog post)

Don't you think above cover deserve more value but it's not happening because
1) Stamp Hobby is in decline
2) Lot of FAKE and Forgery are available.
3) Shill bidding is needed to increase price.!!

I don't know what kind of pricing method is used by seller "theobargain". A used register cover with Gandhi Miniature sheet and Dodo Duck stamps was sold for $1.84 and mint miniature sheet for $10.!!

Looking to above screenshot it looks like  that Mahatma Gandhi PHILATELIC material have no value.!! Do you think it's better to invest in MINT stamps !!?

I think so it's better to invest in Mint stamps because all 1948 India Gandhi Philatelic material along with Mauritius 1969 stamps is either FAKE or Forged.!!

I think  this sheet should not be more than $2 because it's widely available  and there is still large quantity out there for sale and there are no buyers even. (click following to read my blog post)

Mauritius Souvenir sheet is selling in wholesale.  ( 24 sheets are available !!)

In past I had also seen FAKE register cover for sale.!! Yes FAKE.!!  (click following to read my blog post)

But in past I saw some FAKE 1969 register cover send to India with Pin code. In India Pincode/Zipcode was introduce in 1972.!! (click following to read my blog post)

Mauritius Gandhi stamps with Early usage of Indian Pin code system

A classic example of RUBBER Stamp. It's very easy to make one and use one.!!

To me it looks a big SCAM is going on not only in Mahatma Gandhi Stamps but all other Mauritius scam by certain dealers on eBay and also on Delcampe so beware when you buy it.

Gandhi stamps are not expensive as it is mentioned in certain articles because there is lot of shill bidding going on not only in Gandhi stamps but also in Indian First Aerial Post cancellation, British India stamps, King George stamps etc.

If you have money to throw away then start collecting  Mauritius, Cameroon, Panama and 1948 India Gandhi stamps and philatelic material and you will have a PIECE of PAPER.

Still cannot decide then read following blog post which might help you.

Still not decided then my opinion is AVOID it all the cost.!! and have peace of mind instead of worrying you are buying Genuine material at reasonable price.!!!

To me all Gandhi Philatelic material available ( specially before 1950) looks FAKE or Forgery as it is very hard to find Genuine stuff and as new collectors (like me) wants to collect, so some greedy experienced collectors/dealers will provide  all of us as well as experienced collectors.!!

Still want to do research  then please read my other blog post!!

Gandhi Stamps Cameroun : A interesting stamp in Gandhi stamp collection

Hello Gandhi Philatelist,

Last week once again Cameroun used cover with Overprint Moon Landing on Gandhi stamps along with Kennedy stamp was sold for $234.!!

I don't know what's great about this cover, for which someone is paying this much money. To me this stamps are not really ERROR stamps. It's a FAKE overprint stamp which were created with ERROR to make money by creating this kind of overprint as if stamp printer/proof reader/designer have no common sense or ability to take decision.!!

Also all kind of bribery might have happen in 1969 to mail this cover with error stamps other wise it will be not possible to travel through postal stream. Chances are cover might be FAKE too.!! Just rubber stamps.!!

But to me it does not make sense to pay even $256 because I don't think this OVERPRINT of Moon Landing on Gandhi stamps, Kennedy stamps and Martin Luther King stamp is ERROR stamp. It is made intensely to make money.!! Cameroun is a small country so dealers/collectors takes benefit of it!!

God knows what happen 43 years ago.!!  and the creator (and his gang) of this cover knows what they did.!!

In Feb 2010 two similar used covers were for auctioned and one of which was sold for $456 .!!!

Read more about this by clicking following link.

Don't know why such a decline in value.!! 100% decline in 2.5 years.!!

Also to me it looks like when you buy some high priced item you try to accumulate(to decrease your purchase price) or increase price to defend your collection so your worth don't decrease it.!!! but it also create inflation as this hobby is not that popular as it used to be. !!

But that's the case also for Cameroun FDC. It's value is unbelievable in decline path from $300 to $65.!! (It was nothing but inflated price to protect their investment.!!). Check out following blog posts about it. (A bubble in Cameroun stamps).

http://gandhistampsclub.blogspot.com/2011/04/looks-like-bubble-in-cameroun-cameroon.html

I know this very well as I was victim of this Cameroun FDC which taught me everything in Gandhi Philately as well as overall HOW PHILATELY WORKS IN MODERN DAYS.!!

As always I lost again. But this time I was not a 2nd highest bidder. It was only bare minimum so I can do research about buying and selling patterns.!!

My best advice is to stay away from this kind of FAKE error stamp and philatelic materials and I don't think this needs to be glorified.!!

Please click following link if you want to read more research about all Cameroon Gandhi Stamps.

http://gandhistampsclub.blogspot.com/search/label/Cameroun

To me at the end it will be JUST PIECE OF PAPER.!!

If you have money to throw away then start collecting  Cameroon Gandhi Stamps, 1948 Gandhi Stamps and Philatelic material and Panama Gandhi Stamps and you will have a PIECE of PAPER (with no peace of mind.!!).

Still cannot decide then read following blog post which might help you.

Still not decided then my opinion is AVOID it all the cost.!! and have peace of mind instead of worrying you are buying Genuine material.!!!

gandhistamps Maximum Card : What a price difference in Gandhi Philately material

Hello Gandhi Philatelist,

In this blog post I am writing about recently auctioned Max cards with all 4 stamps (including 10 Rupees Gandhi) 1948 Gandhi stamps from India.  Following are selling price and date it was sold.

3/29/12 :- $5105
6/07/12  :- $2501
7/20/12 :- $1390
9/13/12 :- $810

Don't know why this much difference, even there was no difference at all, but your guess is my guess.!!

But amazing thing is that max card with 3 stamps (without 10 Rupees) was sold for $680.!! So not sure what's happening!!
But my feeling is that it's nothing but glorification of Gandhi stamps by increasing value(but not paying it) and make you think that this is it.!! You got to invest in 1948 Gandhi Stamps.!!

Now what is the real value of this kind of material.?

Max card with only 3 lower value Gandhi stamp was sold for $680!!!

Is it not amazing that 4 stamp  max card sold for $810 were as 3 stamp sold for $680!! So 10 Rupees Gandhi stamp is only worth $120 with first day special "Jai Hind" cancellation on a maxi card.!!

On 29th March,  Max card with 1948 India Gandhi stamps was sold for $5105 to ebay buyer id "hitlerandgandhi". (To me this was just a FAKE transaction as it was not paid and just glorified Gandhi Stamps, so you think "Is it really for investment.!! or Is it really worth collecting.!!").

Please read my previous blog about this Maxi card so you will be aware of what's happening in 1948 Gandhi Stamps and Philatelic.

http://gandhistampsclub.blogspot.com/2012/06/1948-gandhi-max-card-sold-for-5100-is.html

Don't know why Gandhi Max Card value fell by 100% !! $5100 - $2501.!!

Why it went only for $2501.!! Don't know what happen to other bidders  who bidded and lost in $5105!! But your guess is my guess.

2nd Bidder : h***t (1689) "posthost" aka "philametrics"
3rd Bidder : m***1(421) "airmail1929"

All this information is collected from public available sources. (In USA if you buy house everyone knows who is buyer and seller and what price it sold after 30-60days in local newspaper and after that partly available on zillow.com!!)  Also as one of the bidder (loser) I can get ebay buyer info easily.!!

On July 20, this maximum card was sold for $1390!!!!!!! So don't know why again price fell down by 100%.

Not sure what happen to previous auction bidders" posthost" and "airmail1929" who bidded twice the amount in previous auction. !! But my guess is your guess.!!

I lost following auction. I just bidded very minimum so I can do research.!!

But it's not worth collecting because it's HIGHLY INFLATED with all kind of methods just to glorify Gandhi stamps.

Not sure where the price of this kind of Max card with Gandhi stamps will stop.!!

If you have money to throw away then start collecting 1948 Gandhi Stamps and Philatelic material and get some worthless piece of paper.!! (Same is true of Panama Gandhi Stamps !!).

Still cannot decide then read following blog post which might help you.

Still not decided then my opinion is AVOID it all the cost.!! and have peace of mind instead of worrying you are buying Genuine material.!!!

ARE FAKE AND FORGERY EASY TO FIND ? : CERTIFICATE OF POSTING RECIEPT

Hello Gandhi Philatelist,

As we all try to collect different philatelic material related to Mahatma Gandhi there are some dealers/collectors who will try to take benefit of us.

Don't just buy it after looking or reading certain philatelic handbooks or stamp exhibit, but think what is authenticity of that piece of paper.

Think RARE stamps or philatelic material are just made for money not for collection.!!

In past I wrote blog post about Round Table Conference postmark on International Reply Coupon. Please read following blog post before  read this so you understand where are you jumping.!! (what are you going in to.!!)

As mentioned in above blog post that Indian Round Table Conference postmark are very easy to Forged and make  all kind of philatelic material so what are chance you will get Genuine item.?

I think 0%!!

Following postmark (PMK) has nothing to do with Mahatma Gandhi as he did not attended this First Round Table conference.!!!

Now let's see what's going on. Recently I saw Indian Round Table Conference (FIRST) for sale on eBay by seller "buyitnowitem".!!

This seller was also selling FORGERY items of 1948 Gandhi stamps so chances of this as FORGERY or Bogus is very very high. Click following link to read forgery by ebay seller "buyitnowitem"

But in past this seller "buyitnowitem" sold FORGERY or FAKE 1948 Gandhi stamps FDC.  So how can we TRUST that 1931 Gandhi theme round table PMK on Certificate of Posting receipt is GENUINE or indeed Authenticate.!!

Following is FAKE special cancellation on private 1948 Gandhi FDC from India which was even sold 5-6 times one eBay.!! (not only fake cancellation, but fake bidding.!!)

Click following link to read about this FORGED FDC and sold multiple times.!!

Now can you trust "buyitnowitem".?

As all of you know that it's very easy to make this kind of RUBBER STAMPS which can be applied to any mint receipt!!!!!

It's just nothing but to make MONEY!!!

Don't you think expensive it goes more Forgery happens.!! This was for sale for only $400!!!!!!! You can find unused  or mint certificate of posting receipt and after that just use rubber stamp. Now you have $400 worth of GANDHI philatelic material.!!

Following is mint certificate of posting receipt.!!!

There are lot of dealers/collectors on ebay who are not trusted. It will be very hard to find all, but if you read my blog you will get some idea how to protect yourself !!!!!!!

In past I wrote about "ph4uv" who was not only selling Gandhi 1948 FDC but also Lithuanian philatelic material. Following is the link.

Following screenshot is a preview of rubber stamp I tried (anyone can) to make one one  rubberstamp.net using round table cancellation image (all the top of this blog). I only previewed it, not order it.!!

Now you have to decide whether this Indian Round Table cancellation is Genuine or Forged or even FAKE.!!

Don't you think it's easy to make all this special cancellation, postmark cancellation, post office cancellation and apply to any mint or even used covers, postcards or even International Reply Coupon (Coupon Response International.).!!

It's very hard to find Genuine cancellation (special cancellation) as it is very easy to forged.!!! and sometimes there are NO GENUINE cancellation even exist.!!

Still cannot decide then read following blog post which might help you.

Still not decided then my opinion is AVOID it all the cost.!! and have peace of mind instead of worrying you are buying Genuine material.!!!

Don't you think Gandhi Philatelic material is very easy to FORGED or FAKED.?

PANAMA GANDHI STAMPS : ONE OF THE HIGHLY INFLATED PRICE IN STAMP COLLECTION.!!!

Hello Gandhi Stamps Collectors,

Panama Gandhi stamp is one of the expensive (inflated) Gandhi stamps after ten rupees 1948 Gandhi Stamps from India.

In past this stamp was sold from $137 - $47 which according was highly inflated. You can read my previous blog post about this and understand what's going on.

Now recently I saw this Panama Gandhi stamp is selling from FIXED price of $60.!!! So I am not sure what previous buyer's feeling about his purchase (cheated by others or fooled others.!!) who bought this stamp for $137.!!!!!!

But this is PART of Gandhi stamp collection.!!!!!!!!

REGRET ......!! if genuine buyer!!

JOY...............!! if fooled other.!!

http://delcampe.net/page/item/id,187831853,var,Panama-Selections-Scott-C384-MH-10c-Mahatma-Gandhi-VERY-SCARCE-CV$60,language,E.html

But more interesting thing is that SCOTT catalog value recently increased from 60 cents to $60.!!  so what was SCOTT catalog company doing since last 40 years. ?

How we can trust SCOTT catalog value.!!! They did not update their catalog or Panama Gandhi stamp is highly inflated and they were not aware of this "Philatelic GAME!!"

Yes it's a Philatelic GAME not Hobby anymore!!!!!!!!!!!

You have to play not collect.!!

I am surprised that there are no buyer at $60 for this Panama Gandhi stamp even though used Panama Gandhi stamps (YES, USED) is selling from  $70 - 150 (4050 - 8000 Indian Rupees) on eBay India (following screenshot)  and Mint is selling for $180 (9500 Indian Rupees).!!!

Don't you think it's INFLATED.? which makes me think about Glorification of Gandhi Stamps.!! so it's true that Gandhi stamps are FALSE HOPES of RICHES.

http://www.ebay.in/sch/i.html?_nkw=panama+gandhi&_sacat=169977&_odkw=panama+gandhi&_osacat=169977&_trksid=p3286.c0.m270.l1313

If you want to read more about Panama Gandhi stamps then please check out following blog post.
1) What a price difference in Panama Gandhi stamps.
2) Panama Gandhi Cover with 3 stamps. Expensive Gandhi used cover.
3) Panama Gandhi FDC : Is it real.!! ?

If you ever buy this stamp for more then 10-20$( this is also expensive or you will inflate it.!!) then chances are you will quit Gandhi Philately, because it is too expensive as still there are lot of hidden Panama Gandhi stamps which will come in market in next 50 years and you will start loosing value instead of appreciating.  Let the dealer and reseller try to protect their Panama stamps and accumulate for us.!!

Please read following series of my blog post  to understand what is going on stamp collecting world specially in Indian Philatelic materials and you will think it's all BOGUS.!! Yes it's all BOGUS.!!

Davaar Island Local Post - Gold foil stamp

 Hello Gandhi Collectors,

"Sanda and Davaar are small islands off Kintyre at the south west side of Scotland.  The islands are uninhabited apart from Lighthousemen--and I hasten to confirm that the 'Local Carriage Labels' are of no postal use whatsoever.

It is a complete racket and there is absolutely no postal justification whatsoever, for their use.  I regret that there is no such thing as a postally used cover." David C. Jefferies  ( Read and see more @ http://www.sossi.org/local/davaar.htm)

Recently 6 Gold foil (cannot be consider as stamp) because it's a foil!!(not even piece of paper!!) were sold under $4.!!

But good way to make money.!!

But recently I was surprised when I saw a seller "phil-centre" from UK is selling this Davar Island local post Gandhi Gold stamp foil for $106!!!

Yes $106 for 7 gold foil.!!

This piece of foil (stamps) which are not valid. It's like a label or Cinderellas so anyone can print it.!!

We are seen lot of forgeries of original stamps of India such as King George, King Edward and 1948 Gandhi stamps from India so this is a safe bet to make it completely FAKE.!!

If you want to make it UNIQUE or RARE collection then you can have it in your collection, but it will be completely UNIQUE-RARE.!!

This is a best way to make money.!!

Even you will see F.D.C of this stamps.!!

It's just require a printed cover and rubber stamp with circular date stamp.!!!

Who cares it's official or just FAKE.!!

Why worry about date!! Just copy what you see on other cover and that's your First Day of Issue.

So beware of this kind of ridiculous pricing other wise you will regret buying this kind of not valid stamp.

Thanks

Mahatma Gandhi Stamps : Is it GENUINE, FAKE OR STOLEN?

Hello Gandhi Philatelist,

Recently I saw a hand made paper cover with 1948 Gandhi stamps and cancellation from Indian Embassy of Nepal with dated on 15th August 1948 (I questioned about availability of this stamp on this date in Nepal.!!) which was also first day of issue of this stamps.!! It's indeed a unique cover (if Genuine??) send to Prime Minister of Nepal.!!
As all you know that I own this kind of private FDC( which I consider FAKE even though I paid $80!!)  from Indian Embassy of Nepal and wrote multiple blog post (click following to read)  about this only to bring awarness to all collectors.

I have following question about this cover before we can claim as Genuine.

1) Really send (given as gift) to PM ?? or just address.!!
2) Why not given on some authenticate envelope with some kind of Logo of Indian Embassy or rubber stamp of Emblem of India.?
3) Why not any detail who presented or gave this cover to him such as signature or rubber stamp of Ambassador of India or Consul-General of India.
4) Is there any other proof that it was indeed given to Prime Minister such as seal of Nepal Prime Minister Office?
5) If Genuine how this Government property or private collection is coming to Market for sale.!!
6) Why hand made paper envelope ?
7) Even BPA or RPSL certification expert will be confused as it will very hard for them to find out that it was indeed send to PM of Nepal!!

If it is Genuine then  it is a gift and it should either be in museum or with some relatives of PM!!

I can get cancellation from local post office and type address to any PM or King  so it does not mean it was really send to that person or given as gift.

So to me it is not worth collecting this kind of philatelic material send to some dignitaries.!! specially with 1948 Gandhi Stamps!! It's all BOGUS.!!

If it is Genuine cover (I don't think so) then it should be Stolen from NEPAL Government and People of Nepal. (seller might not know that it was Stolen!! He might be just selling it from stock he bought it from someone like we saw it in 1933 Tibet paper cover with Tibet stamps and 1948 Gandhi stamp with circular  Indian Embassy of  Nepal cancellation!!)

Also this kind of material don't come in auction without proper proof and with real owner. Let's take example of recent Gandhiji letter to his friend Kallenbach. It was for auction in July 2012 from relative of Dr. Isa Sarid, Kallenbach's great grandniece, money was giving to Sarid's son by Indian Government.!!  That is known as Genuine philatelic material.!!

But who cares eBay is making money on this transaction and I hope PayPal is also making money on this sale.!! (Disclosure : I own eBay stock in my retirement account as well as recently I do trading of eBay stock). Also I was one of the bidder on this auction, but lost.!!!

This was one of the expensive FDC with 1948 Gandhi Stamps from India was sold in August. You can see other expensive Gandhi philately material sold in that month.

Even chances of FAKE stamps are very high on used cover because they are available in plenty.

Do you think eBay got commission from this auction ?

Reason for thinking about this that all the bids you see might be FAKE or shill bidding and after auction closes seller and buyer mutually withdraw bid, so they don't have to pay commission.!!

Or buyer don't pay so seller will open case with eBay so seller will not have to pay commission.

Here if transaction is genuine eBay will get $450 + commission from Paypal which will be $200-$300!

Do you think eBay shareholder are CHEATED by buyer or seller ?

Chances are very high.

Please read following series of my blog post  to understand what is going on stamp collecting world specially in Indian Philatelic materials and you will think it's all BOGUS.!! Yes it's all BOGUS.!!

1) 1948 Stamps False hope of Riches?
2) 1948 Gandhi Stamps: Are False hope of Riches - Part II ?
3) 1948 Gandhi Mourning Private FDC : Are False hope of Riches - Part III?

9) First Aerial Post - Indian Philately Exposed - Part III
10) 1911 First Aerial Post - Allahabad - Indian Philately Exposed - Part IV

Now what do you think about this Nepal Indian Embassy cancellation send to Prime Minister.!!
Yes. Prime Minister of Nepal.!!

So what do you think about this cover ?

Is it Genuine ?

Is it FAKE or BOGUS?

OR

Is it STOLEN?

My guess is 2nd options.!! So to me this is not worth collecting or investing in it.!!

But it's up to you to decide whether this kind of material is for you or not, as you have to pay.!!

India Stamps : 10 Rupees Gandhi stamp value!! Is it Genuine or FAKE!!!!!!!Expertising Certificate from RPSL and BPA are even used to pass of forgeries.!!!

Hello Gandhi Stamps Collectors,

Recently I saw 10 Rupees 1948 stamp sold for $113 and  I was really surprised with the price.!! But I was even more surprised when other 10 Rupees Gandhi Stamp was sold for $97.!!

Reason for surprise is that this stamp was selling from $200-300, but I am seeing huge price declining recently.

My 4 years of experience tells me that 1948 India Gandhi stamps  are  glorified by price inflation so to begin with it should not be $200-$300. On top of it because of this glorification and inflated price there is more than FAKE and FORGERY  1948 Gandhi stamps and philatelic material from India then Genuine.!!!

Read my previous blog post to understand FAKE 1948 Gandhi stamps is COPY or FACSIMILE !!

Seller don't mentioned that this is Genuine or FAKE !! because we all know very large quantity of 1948 Gandhi 10 Rupees stamp is available as copy/Facsimile !!

So we know this is indeed a Genuine stamp.!!?? If anyone know then comment on this blog so everyone is aware of it.

Recently I read following

" This type of forgery is nothing unusual - the 10Rs Gandhi stamp (the whole set actually) has been extensively forged. The forged SERVICE overprint is abundantly available. Even worse, there are many older genuine RPSL and BPA certificates (for the 10Rs Service stamp) that are floating and have been used to pass of forgeries. The red cross missing stamp and the bird of prey that recently appeared in auction houses were also determined to be fake when they were sent for certification after auction "

"One of the genuine stamps also has two certificates issued on it - which means a genuine certicate may be available to pass off a forgery. So it is not merely enough to buy a stamp with the certificate , but as always to ensure that the stamp belongs to the certificate and that the certificate itself is legitimate by writing to/emailing the BPA directly (as certificates have also been forged)."

After reading above screenshot, now how I can trust 1948 Gandhi Stamps from India.!!!

Expertising Certificate  from RPSL and BPA are even used to pass of forgeries.!!!

Following is screenshot from ebay which is selling 10 Rupees Gandhi stamps.

seller : "melbournestamps"
location : Australia.
date : 9/16/2012

But what amazed me is that there were 9 bidders for this stamps.!!

To me all 1948 Gandhi stamp from India looks flaky.!! including 10 Rupees Gandhi stamp.!!

Following is one more example where 10 Rupees Gandhi stamp was sold for $97.!!!!!

Seller : vfrens1985
location : Dubai, UAE
date : 9/4/2012
description : Check Scan. !! ( now how you know whether this is FAKE or FORGERY using high quality scan, what we see all the time for facsimile.!!)

I don't buy this or collect this because it's a big SCAM in philately world which is part of a big game "Philatelic Game" or "Philatelic Joke."!!

But my advice is AVOID, AVOID, AVOID any 1948 Gandhi stamps and private FDC and ofcourse used covers.!!

To me this both stamps looks flaky.!!!

Please read following series of my blog post  to understand what is going on stamp collecting world specially in Indian Philatelic materials.
