Queen Victoria stamps : Postal History or just rubber stamp ?

Hello Philatelist,

It's interesting to study postal history and research different philatelic material so we can get idea or start thinking possibilities in our own thematic collection.

By doing so you get exposure to different kind of tricks and gimmick played on different thematic philatelic material and we can save our self in our postal history collection

There is limited things to see in postal history philatelic CHEATING

1) Forged Cancellation :
2) Bogus Cancellation
3) Forged Stamps :
4) Bogus Stamps/Imperf stamps
5) SHILL Bidding
6) Error stamps/ Misprint stamps/ Perforated Error.

On August 5th, I was surprised when I saw postal history philatelic cover with Queen Victoria stamp with "Duplex Cancellation number 23" from Indian Post Office in Muscat, which was sold for $8176!!

This East India Queen Victoria stamp was used in Indian Post Office in Muscat in 1871!!

It's 140+ years old cover, but looks crisp and clear.!!

Not sure where this enveloped was send and to whom it was send because of different language.!!

Not sure how this translated in 1871 if it was send to foreign countries!!

This was sold by eBay seller "darvinium" from UK and bought by eBay buyer from Singapore "kameltom". It's very good for eBay shareholder as they will get benefit of commission seller will pay to eBay and PayPal on $8000.!! ( Disclosure :Currently I own eBay stock in my personal account)

But I am not sure whether this commission is paid or not.!!, because chances are buyer may not paid to seller or buyer may return it etc.

It's very easy to find all information on eBay and following will give you idea how to find it.

What are chances of this MUSCAT cancellation as Forgery or BOGUS.

We know all FORGERY and BOGUS going in Gandhi philately as well other BRITISH INDIA Philately such as First Aerial Mail, Queen Victoria stamps from British India, King George stamps from British India, King Edward stamps from British India and lot more.

Following are Forgery or BOGUS special cancellation or postmark from post office, used on Gandhi stamps.

F0RGERY of 1911 First Aerial Post (rubber stamp) with Red ink.!!!
Chances of correct ink cover might be in Museum or selling on eBay!!

Also in past we had seen "Strait Settlements" cancellation also forged so what are chances of Muscat duplex cancellation number 23 is also FORGED.

Following is blog post which will give you idea about postal history, what is FORGED cancellation from Penang Strait Settlements on East India postage stamp.

8) Indian Philately Exposed - Part II
9) Gandhi SERVICE overprint stamp price fell from $1009 to $1.!!

So now what do you think about postal history of Queen Victoria stamps with Muscat duplex number 23 cancellation from Indian Post Office in Muscat.?

Is this postal history Muscat Duplex Cancellation on Queen Victoria is GENUINE or FORGED like Straits Settlements East India Penang Octagonal cancellation or other Gandhi philately material or First Aerial Mail from Allahabad. ?
