Belgium stamps

Hello stamp collectors,

In 1999, Belgium issued sheet containing one of first Gandhi stamps in Euros along with Martin Luther king stamp, TinTin stamp, Charlie Chaplin stamps and other famous people stamps.

Each stamp from Belgium was 0.42 euros so the face value of this will be 8.40 euros in 1999.

But after 14 years this stamps of Belgium is selling for 6 euros.!! So this means that there is 25% price decline in stamp price during that time.

This Belgium stamp sheet has 20 se-tenant stamp of Pope John XXIII stamp, Willy Brandt stamp , JFK stamp, Mahatma Gandhi stamp, Martin Luther King Jr. stamp, Lenin stamp, Che Guevara stamp, Golda Meir stamp, Nelson Mandela stamp, Modern Olympics stamp, Soccer stamp, Tour de France(Cycling) stamp, Edith Piaf stamp, The Beatles stamp, Charlie Chaplin stamp, Tourism stamp and Scouting stamp.

Even with so many different theme involved in this Belgium stamp sheet it's not appreciating at all.

There were no official first day cover issued for this Belgium stamps, but you can find this sheet  with Belgium first day cancellation.

But that Belgium stamp sheet with first day cancellation also selling for 5 euros.!!

Yes 5 euros for twenty Belgium stamp!! with first day special cancellation.!!!

Recently this stamp sheet with first day special cancellation were sold on delcampe to "brownblackcherry" , "shapfims" and "jamals".!!

Even Belgium first day sheet with special cancellation on stamps from Belgium with Pope John XXIII stamp, Willy Brandt stamp , JFK stamp, Mahatma Gandhi stamp, Martin Luther King Jr. stamp, Lenin stamp, Che Guevara stamp, Golda Meir stamp, Nelson Mandela stamp, Modern Olympics stamp, Soccer stamp, Tour de France(Cycling) stamp, Edith Piaf stamp, The Beatles stamp, Charlie Chaplin stamp, Tourism stamp and Scouting stamp is not appreciating.

So do you think stamps of Belgium is for Investment.

Read my following blog post to understand about stamp collection in DECLINE.!!

1) A Hobby in Decline : 1948 Gandhi USED cover case study.!!
2) A Hobby in Decline.!! - Part-2
3) How to invest when philately price is dropping.

If you see stamps are not even selling or selling like 5-10 times lower their value than mentioned in catalog.!!

Don't you think Belgium stamp collection does not make sense.!!

Reason for this is that investment is not appreciating even though it has one of the most famous people in the world.!!
